We were on the Disney Dining Plan and found it well worth the $360 we paid for it. Total of the meals we used the plan for was $754.87, with an additional $368.34 spent out of pocket (including a dinner at Spoodles at which we paid for SIL and BIL and our neice (17) with drinks. I've never done a trip report, so bear with me on this...

---
Day 1 – Christmas Day

Airport
Grande Peppermint Mocha & Hot Chocolate at Starbucks = $7.19 OOP
4 bottles water at Paradies Shops = $7.79 OOP
cereal bars from home

Lunch at Sassagoula Float Works (Port Orleans French Quarter Food Court)
4 CS = $55.21
Me: Cheesesteak sandwich, fries, 24 oz bottle water, cheesecake w/strawberry topping
DH: Cheesesteak sandwich, fries, 24 oz bottle water, cheesecake w/strawberry topping
DD: Chicken fingers, fries, bottle lemonade, ice cream cookie sandwich
DS: Cheeseburger, fries, bottle lemonade, ice cream cookie sandwich

Everything was delicious! We split the ice cream sandwiches all around and took the cheesecakes to the room to save in the refrigerator for later.

Gingerbread Cookies at Grand Floridian
2 cookies = $7.46 OOP

Dinner at Chef Mickey’s
4 TS = $104

Great for buffet food! Wonderful character interaction – saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip & Dale, and Baloo :) Purchased 2 photo packages (kids and family) for an additional $50.

Day 2 – Magic Kingdom

Coffee at Main Street Bakery
1 S = $3
Coffee was okay -- didn't get to finish it since we went to Mickey's Philharmagic next and I couldn't take it in with me.

Snacks at Main Street Confectionery
2 chocolate covered pretzels and 1 mammoth pecan pattie = $6.87 OOP

Breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table
4 TS - $82

Good food, great character interaction. Saw Cinderella, Mary Poppins, Belle, Snow White, and Aurora (Sleeping Beauty). (Purchased photo package for an additional $31.90.)

Snacks at Thunder Ice Cream Cart
3 S - ~$9
1 Mickey Ice Cream Bar, 2 other ice cream treats – all delicious!

Dinner at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant
2 TS - $114.27
Paid OOP for kids - $11.17 plus additional tip $8.83 = $20
Me: Coke, Crispy Calamari appetizer, NY Strip Steak, Hazelnut Chocolate Torte, Coffee
DH: Coke, Fried Goat Cheese appetizer, NY Strip Steak, Amaretto Cheesecake, Coffee
DD: Spaghetti w/Meatball, Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae
DS: Scamp’s Ravioli, Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae

This was one of our best meals. Server Mark was wonderful, even obtained Lady’s autograph for us!! Very accommodating and put everything on the DDP except the kids’ entrees. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Would probably not get the goat cheese again but it was worth a try. Tasted good but rich.

Water at POFQ
2 large bottles $7 OOP

Day 3 - Epcot

Snack at Refreshment Port
1 large order McDonald’s fries $2.86

Lunch at LeCellier
2 TS $87.88
Kids OOP (+ my coffee) $23.05 plus $5 tip = $28.05
Me: Petit Filet, Iced Tea, Cheese Soup, Chocolate Whiskey Cake (Happiest Celebration on Earth), Coffee
DH: Petit Filet, Coke, Cheese Soup, Maple Crème Brulee
DS: Hot dog, fries, milk, Chocolate Moose dessert
DD: Cheeseburger, fries, Smore’s dessert

Hands down best meal of the trip. Steaks were perfection, pretzel bread and cheese soup to die for (as I’d been told!), and the service was extraordinary. Craig learned that DS had just lost his Goofy Santa Hat and magically appeared with a voucher for him to replace it. Totally made my son’s day.

Drinks at Sunshine Season Food Fair
4 S = $8.22

Dinner at Garden Grill
2 TS $68.02
Kids OOP $27.67 + $5 tip = $32

Food was okay, desserts were fabulous and the kids enjoyed making their own cupcakes. DS did not like the mac & cheese here. Character interaction was good and we finally got to see Pluto! Also Farmer Mickey, Chip, and Dale. Server Felipe was great; however I would not go back to this one -- it didn't hold a candle to Chef Mickey's.

Snack at Sassagoula Food Court
Beignets (6) $4.25 OOP

Day 4 – Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, and Boardwalk

Safari Coffee
Double cappuccino $4.47 OOP
This was just okay. Only got to drink about half of it when DD decided to get sick so the rest was wasted -- this was not a good trip for coffee and me.

Breakfast at Tusker House
3 TS = $16.90

Eggs were delicious, bacon/sausage, biscuit and home fries were all good. DS ate most of mine plus his own. DD did not eat.

Water at Sassagoula Food Court
2 S = $4.11

Lunch at Earl of Sandwich
4 CS = $34.85
Me: The Full Montague, Coke, Brownie
DH: Hawaiian BBQ, Coke, Cookie
DD: PBJ, punch, brownie
DS: PBJ, punch, cookie

Sandwiches and desserts were delicious, but the place was a zoo. Would still go back here, though.

Water on the Boardwalk
1 bottle water $2 OOP

Dinner at Spoodles
2 TS $103.18
Me: Greek Salad, Pork Osso Bucco, Happiest Celebration on Earth White Chocolate Orange Cake, Coffee
DH: Greek Salad, NY Strip Steak, Chocolate Sundae, Coffee

2 pitchers Sangria, kids, SIL, BIL, and Niece OOP $198.47
DD: Kids’ Grilled Cheese & milk
DS: Kids’ Chicken dinner, chocolate milk
SIL: Pork Osso Bucco, Chardonnay, Dessert Sampler, Coffee
BIL: Salad, Salmon, Coffee, Vanilla Sundae
Niece: Fettucini with chicken

Good food, albeit pricey. Great service and atmosphere. My lamb was fatty, but that’s the nature of lamb. DH’s steak was good and the sangria was delicious :)

Day 5 – MGM

Breakfast at Sassagoula Food Court
4 CS = $32.23
Me: Western Omelet, coffee
DH: King Creole platter, water
DS: Pancakes w/bacon, water
DD: Chocolate chip pancakes w/bacon, water

Food was great – made to order! We had our OJ brought from home and took waters with us to the park. DH loves the Disney egg recipe!

Lunch at Sci-Fi Dine-In
$28.60 OOP (would have been $51.15)
Me: Cheeseburger & fries, coke
DH: Cheeseburger, fries, chocolate shake
DD: Cheeseburger, fries, orange soda
DS: Chicken Nuggets, fries, root beer

Atmosphere and theme were great and the kids had a wonderful time, but DH’s burger was not cooked through. Sent it back and they credited bill plus brought 2 complimentary hot fudge sundaes, which were delicious :) Our server was very patient with a spilled soda and the return of uncooked burger, but service still didn’t stand out. Probably wouldn’t go back to this one.

Snacks at Sassagoula Food Court
6 S = ~$20 (didn’t note the price on this)
4 Mickey Rice Crispie Treats, 1 bottle water, 1 king-size bag of cheetoes

1 CS = ~$12 (didn’t note the price on this)
Turkey sub, brownie, coffee
All good.

1 bottle Coke OOP $1.87

Coffee at Orlando Airport
Starbucks $2.01

I got so much help planning from reading this board, so I hope this helps return the favor in some small way. Any questions?

That was a wonderful food report - very concise, full of valuable information!!

I've not eaten at Tony, and you got Lady's autograph? Way cool!!

Thank You!

Very happy to hear you enjoyed Tony's...going next week for first time and keep hearing how bad it is.

Thanks for the report. :flower:

I keep saying I'm going to post a detailed report, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Thanks for the report. We are staying at POFQ so was interested in your opinions of the CS there. Wasn't sure if it would be worth using the CS credits for. We're looking forward to Le Cellier too.

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.
