Just back from our 5th stay @ CSR. Until now, we've never been disappointed with any aspect of this resort... However, this time mousekeeping wasn't up to par. We didn't have our room cleaned for the 1st 3 days due to the late hour the mousekeeper arrived every day. My DD is recovering from a bad case of bronchitis & needed to rest during the heat of the day. After day 1, I asked her to arrive early (before 2pm), & she said she would, but the next day it was even later. Therefore, I called housekeeping & asked if my room could be cleaned by noon on day 3 (it hadn't been cleaned yet & we were okay with that) - they assured me it would be - NOT! Finally, after getting a manager involved (1st time ever in 22 trips to the world), our room was cleaned at 4:30pm on day 3, & by noon on day 4. It's just the 2 of us, & we're very neat, so all we needed was some more tp & fresh hand towels. I picked up the sunflower seeds left all over the floor by the guests before us (yuck!). We never got the extra tp, so we had to use it sparingly...
The lines at the Pepper Market were ridiculous in the evenings - backed all the way to the arcade at least 2 nights of our 5 night stay. Lots of convention people were spread out all over the resort - I felt sorry for those who had fancy evening events & had to walk in formal wear long distances to the convention center, as many were seniors, & I wouldn't want my parents having to do it. Otherwise, the buses were very efficient & never too full, & the Dig site always had lounge chairs available. I really like being able to fill my mug at the pool. We had a top floor, corner room in the Ranchos 6330 (standard) - partial landscape view & quiet. It was close to bus stop 3 & the Dig Site, but a hike to El Centro. Questions?:D

We just returned from Ranchos 6B last week. We also had issues with housekeeping. Glad I decided not to tip this trip! Other than that though, CSR was a great resort and I would probably stay there again.

Sorry, you had a problem with housekeeping at CSR. We are scheduled to stay there in August for the first time. I requested Cabana 8a, not sure why except that someone else stayed there and said it was nice. It is also close to the pool and the bus stop.

Sorry you had HK issues. You definetly should write and complain so maybe they could straightn out the problem

That is too bad. It is very good that you did speak to a manager while you were there instead of waiting until you got home. I would definitely write to Disney about your experience to emphasize the fact that you didn't have enough TP. That is totally unacceptable. I had a bad experience with AKL housekeeping. Someone from Disney contacted me about it.

Wow, I guess it just depends on where your room is. We were there in mid-May and they were knocking on our door at 8am to clean the room. We were in Casitas 4.

We were at CSR earlier this month and had the same problem with mousekeeping not cleaning the room till very late in the day. We were in Cabanas 8B. Don't know what time they finally arrived but when we came back to the room each day at 2:30-3:00 it wasn't ever cleaned and we felt like we needed to hurry and get back out so they could get in. Its just a gross feeling to come back hot and tired and walk in to unmade beds. My mom said that's what we get for not staying at a deluxe resort!! Other than that we had no other problems.

So sorry this happened to you! We were there in June and had no trouble. I think they came around 11:00 everyday, because one day I was in the room, so they had to come back. I guess this can happen in any resort, but when management is made aware, something should be done. Did you happen to get a postcard for an on-line survey from CSR when you returned? I got one and just filled it out a couple days ago. They asked all about housekeeping and how staff reacted to problems. It's a shame that you didn't get one of these. It also gave an on-line place to go if you had a problem you wanted to report, but I didn't write it down.

We are planning to go back--do you think you would ever go back??

I haven't written off CSR, but we'll return to POR, our favorite moderate resort, on our next visit in Dec. What really bugged me was the fact that at least 4 rooms were checking out on our hall the day I was "promised" service by noon, so I don't see why we couldn't have been cleaned first, or at least earlier than after 2pm??? Anyway, if I get a survey, I'll fill it out. CSR is a lovely resort & 4 out of 5 stays were great.:D

We'll be there 7/17-24. Yikes!! Now I'm a little freaked. We like the room cleaned before we come back for an afternoon swim. DH is a very generous mousekeeping tipper. There's no excuse for not picking up the obvious leftovers from previous guests. I hope these concerns were addressed and dealt with accordingly.

P.S. The BEST mousekeeping we've ever had was at All Star Sports (a value). Lots of attention to detail, towel creatures watching cartoons, one day all of DD's stuffed animals were sitting in the window waiting for our return from the parks. Clothes folded, extra towels, our little kitchen "area" cleaned and straightened. It all goes back to customer service and the amount of care & pride someone takes in their job (this topic is covered a lot on the restaurant board). Believe me, mousekeepers on that trip were very well rewarded for their effort.

OOOOPPPS!! I better clarify something before someone questions or makes a comment!!

Of course we REALLY didn't have a kitchen at ASspts. It was the spot in the room with the table, our giant cooler, cereal boxes, paper plates, bags of chips, cases of drinks, packages of snacks, coffee pot & fixings, etc.

By the 2nd day, we were CALLING it the kitchen!

It's just the 2 of us, & we're very neat, so all we needed was some more tp & fresh hand towels.

Couldn't you just have called the front desk, the manager or housekeeping and told them you were out of those things and asked to have the brought up?
