Just back, CM's told us a secret that's gonna be HUGE

Oh man, this doesn't sound good. Disney seems too fluffy for Comic Book Superheros. Universal seems like the better place for them. But oh well.

So does this mean we'll be seeing Marvel stuff at DL?

IMO: -

Disney now owns the rights to Marvel and characters... i think that their would be an agreement where Disney could use characters not currently in use by other theme park attractions...

when you look at merchandise sold in disney at present their is alot of focus on Iron-Man and it wouldnt surprise me if in the Hollywood Studios park disney did an Iron-Man show/meet and greet similar to what they did with the power rangers in the past previously.

this is just my 2pennies and i dont want to argue with anyone i have read and took others into consideration its just i personally dont agree that Disney could own a franchise but not have any form of usage of it... what would the gains be???

They have LOTS of opportunities to use the brand in other ways...and they make money off the things they DON'T have the rights to (Universal, Sony, and Fox cut them checks in perpetuity, as long as they use the properties they have rights to). So the answer is (as it is in all things to do with huge corporate entities): To make a profit. Having the Marvel heroes inside Disney parks isn't the only way (or, probably, even the best way) to do that.

And contracts are contracts, and the ones Sony, Fox, and Universal have are considered to be airtight. Universal has ALMOST a virtual "corner" on the Marvel biz east of the Mississippi. Disney is not going to risk brand confusion by rolling out the characters they DO have rights to...there's enough people (believe it or not) who can't figure out why their multi-day hopper passes don't work at Universal, already.

I'm not trying to argue with anyone, I assure you. But facts are facts. And contracts are contracts. Given Disney has zero leverage in the 3 contracts I mention above....it would take gobs of cash to buy them out. And I doubt the stockholders would view that as a great investment of Disney's liquid assets.

Yes I think we will se Marvel first in Shanghai then IMO DL's third park will be Marvel.
