Just back from a nice 9 day camping trip at Fort Wilderness, we did many meals ourselves at the campsite but got out a few times as well. This was our trip to try places we hadn't been before.

MK Sat FEB 4th- 3pm -were just gonna ride the monorail around when DH said, lets go ride some rides. We entered MK there was an abandoned double stroller at the turnstiles :cool1: Walking onto mainstreet a CM says, "You may want to stay put as the parade will be here any minute. Holy cow front row at the the parade with out lining up at 2! After the parade DH said he was hungry, I said lets get some hot dogs at Casey's. We had two 1/4lb dogs, DS6 and DS2 had corn dog nuggets. We split two fries. I used cheese from the toppings bar to make yummy cheese fries! This was a great unexpected meal. :goodvibes

Epcot Monday Feb 6th. Wanted to eat around the world at places we had never tried. See we love Tangerine Cafe, and whenever we go to Epcot we eat there, so we forced ourselves to try new things.

First we had an order of Fish and chips from England. Nice flaky fish with good fries. Would do it again. :thumbsup2

Then to France for sweets got Chocolate mousse and a cream puff, I think I ordered the wrong things, because they were ok, but not spectacular.

Hurt to walk past the Tangerine Cafe and not get anything :guilty:

We had a yummy funnel cake in America. Okay, this was not a new stop for us, but we were disappointed in the French sweets, and we knew we loved the funnel cakes.

Sommerfest in Germany provided yummy bratwurst for DH and I. Hot dogs for the boys. Problem I hate saurkraut, and they serve it with everything. The bratwaurst was very good though, and was served on very nice rolls. It think I would like to try German TS next trip.

Our decision after sampling the world is that we will stick with our beloved Tangerine Cafe for the most part. :teeth:

Tuesday Feb 7th BOMA- joined by sister in law and her family. I will start by saying we wanted to love it. We are pretty open to exotic tastes, but after taking small portions of everything on the buffet, we all pretty much agreed that the soups were the main highlight, and that $26 was a lot of money for soup. The prime rib was good, but its the same prime rib you'll find at the other WDW buffets, the coconut Tiramisu was yummy, but the Zebra domes didn't live up to the hype for me. Tried it once, will try someplace else next time.

Wed Feb 8th, diverted from the try new places plan and had Dinner at Crystal Palace for the second time in three months with Sister-in-law and her family. Turned out to be the best meal of the week. Character iteraction was really great as my nephew 4 who was a little nervous of the characters earlier in the week really opened up when they came to him. Highlights included the wonderful salads, the wild mushroom pasta, the prime rib and the tiramisu.

Thursday Feb 9th ESPN Club. Wings-whole wings with fantastic flavor, Split a burger with cheddar and grilled onions with great fries. DS6 and DS2 split an order of miniburgers which was perfect for their small appetites. Will return here. :thumbsup2

Friday Feb 10 Liberty Tree Tavern. We love family style dining such as O'hana, so we had high hopes for this meal. First came salad in a strawberry vinargarette with rolls. Both were great. Then came the main entrees, ham was very good, in a mustard sauce,- turkey was yummy with gravy, -flank steak also good....sides stuffing, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and green beans-all good, green beans the best. For dessert we got a bowl of apple cobbler with ice cream on top which was very yummy. The characters were Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale, the character interation was just not that great compared to other character meals we have done. They did not give my children the attention the received at CP. My DH made the observation that we ate about 12 slices of deli meat and paid $28 a person to do so. The meal wasn't bad, its just that with so many other great places we've already found, and new places to try, we won't be returning.

Got home this afternoon, with no set plans for our next trip,,,,a little depressed. :guilty:

I enjoyed your reviews. And good for you to try new places even if some of them didn't work out.

The trips do go too fast don't they. But you can plan in your head until things firm up.

What kind of camping did you do. FW is so peaceful isn't it?

Thanks for the reviews. We are going to Boma and Crystal Palace also. Glad to hear that character interaction was good for you at CP. I was getting a little nervous because I have heard that a person could wait hours and never interact with the characters. Thanks!

Thanks for the reviews :) I know what you mean about giving up your favorite places to try new ones. We're going to be trying a lot of new restaurants on our next trip, and I hope I don't regret it. :teeth:

Thanks for your reviews. We are trying some new places this next trip (some of which you reviewed) and I'm hoping we won't regret not hitting our favorites.

Thanks for the reviews.
Sometimes, though, when you find something good you just stick with it. I give you credit for trying new things, though! :thumbsup2

Glad to hear you had a wonderful trip. I was sad and a little depressed after I came home from our last trip. Now I am into planing our next trip for 2007 so I am happy again.

Cheer up, your next trip will be here before you know it.

Loralie

Thank you for sharing. Isn't it hard to give up old favorites and try new things? We're trying new things our next trip.
