Just back from a great trip - BWV from the 10th to 16th, then HRH from 16th to 19th. Our plane was delayed due to the extreme cold, so we arrived a little before 3 and our 2 br was ready - rooms 5009/5007 - all requests were met - BW view (guaranteed now, so no surprise), NS, top floor. The view was fabulous and worth every point this trip as none of my older kids have stayed at BWV before - they were impressed!!! Only the most minor of complaints - no pillows in the closets for the sofa beds- called housekeeping and had them within 10 minutes. On the second day we realized there were no dishwasher packets or spare TP - again had them within minutes - wonderful, smiling housekeeper came with her arms full and told us enthusiastically to call right away if we needed more. Absolutely nothing else wrong with either room!! (OK, there were also 2 hairs in the tub, but I rinsed them out- I cleaned hotel rooms as a summer job in high school, so no problem for me). Weather on marathon weekend was quite chilly (but, hey, it was sub-zero at home!!), but then warmed up (mid 60s to high 70s the rest of the week) quickly (my theory is that the Universe was smiling down on joshsmom and Josh and we were just lucky enough to be there at the same time they were!!
) I didn't brave the pool, only the hot tub, but others were swimming. Watching the marathon was fun, but made it a little difficult to get around. Sunshine every day, low crowds, got to take some unexpected pictures of the Christmas decorations early in the week, my only complaint is still the shared bus system
- really slow even in the slow season. We did so much and had so many great experiences that I'll work on a trip report (after I finish putting away my own Christmas decorations and doing laundry!), but will gladly answer questions in the meantime!
Almost forgot to mention. . . my green ribbons worked!! The adorable Jillpie and her very! handsome (my girls commented on this several times!
)men spotted us at the entrance to MK and we chatted- so nice to meet a fellow DISer for the first time!
Then at HRH we rented the cabana next to the adorable Pathubia and her NE Patriots loving family - what fun !!! Everyone was having a blast and feeling grateful (and maybe a little guilty) to be sitting in the warm florida sun
!
