Just back from a great trip - BWV from the 10th to 16th, then HRH from 16th to 19th. Our plane was delayed due to the extreme cold, so we arrived a little before 3 and our 2 br was ready - rooms 5009/5007 - all requests were met - BW view (guaranteed now, so no surprise), NS, top floor. The view was fabulous and worth every point this trip as none of my older kids have stayed at BWV before - they were impressed!!! Only the most minor of complaints - no pillows in the closets for the sofa beds- called housekeeping and had them within 10 minutes. On the second day we realized there were no dishwasher packets or spare TP - again had them within minutes - wonderful, smiling housekeeper came with her arms full and told us enthusiastically to call right away if we needed more. Absolutely nothing else wrong with either room!! (OK, there were also 2 hairs in the tub, but I rinsed them out- I cleaned hotel rooms as a summer job in high school, so no problem for me). Weather on marathon weekend was quite chilly (but, hey, it was sub-zero at home!!), but then warmed up (mid 60s to high 70s the rest of the week) quickly (my theory is that the Universe was smiling down on joshsmom and Josh and we were just lucky enough to be there at the same time they were!! :sunny: ) I didn't brave the pool, only the hot tub, but others were swimming. Watching the marathon was fun, but made it a little difficult to get around. Sunshine every day, low crowds, got to take some unexpected pictures of the Christmas decorations early in the week, my only complaint is still the shared bus system  - really slow even in the slow season. We did so much and had so many great experiences that I'll work on a trip report (after I finish putting away my own Christmas decorations and doing laundry!), but will gladly answer questions in the meantime!
Almost forgot to mention. . . my green ribbons worked!! The adorable Jillpie and her very! handsome (my girls commented on this several times!;) )men spotted us at the entrance to MK and we chatted- so nice to meet a fellow DISer for the first time! :wave2: Then at HRH we rented the cabana next to the adorable Pathubia and her NE Patriots loving family - what fun !!! Everyone was having a blast and feeling grateful (and maybe a little guilty) to be sitting in the warm florida sun  !

So glad you had a marvelous vacation! We are going next week and are staying at the BWV preferred view so I was really happy to hear the room was clean and you got everything you needed quickly. It was nice of you to post all of us. Thanks so much.

Awesome! Cool to met another DISer! I met jaysue a couple trips back. Very nice guy, that jaysue! ;) What kind of ribbon did you atke? Just a plain green ribbon?

Sounds like a great time...we go home in April...I can't wait...I got my dd (14) two Dis tshirts for the trip...I also got the fanny pack...she won't touch it, lol...I will hang it from the baby stroller...She is really hoping that someone notices her...let me tell you...with that color green...you can't be missed, lol...

Wasn't it a great week to be at disney? I took my DD3 in the pool at BWV last week - it was a tad chilly - but how often do you get to swim in January?:p Glad you had a good time.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing! Glad you had a good time!

lenshanem - knowing there were quite a few DISers in the world last week, I had tied a lime green ribbon to each side of my granddaughter's stroller handle and tied a little lime green mickey head paint chip sample (from Home Depot) to each one. I also had a ribbon on my backpack. Jillpie said one of her sons spotted the ribbons.

It was great to meet a fellow DISer and share their excitement - Jillpie and family were obviously having a wonderful trip, too - and my kids, who tease me endlessly about my "disney friends" (and always roll their eyes  when they say it), said, "wow, they seem really normal!" (as in, "but we know YOU are not!";) ). :smooth:

Never found or wore any green before this trip - was glad I did!!

Hi again Bonnie!!! I just finished posting on another post to you. I still can't believe we ran into a Diser! How wonderful it was and you were so kind in your post about my sons. You'll have to give them the bad news that my oldest has a girlfriend ;) who he promptly called each night with his phone card..kept him very happy, drove me nuts wondering when he was coming up to the room so we could all go to bed!!!:p
We ended up pool hopping to the BW! It was one of our most favorite days last week. Went to the Dolphin for bfast (got the DVC discount, nice) and went over there to see the BW and ended up enjoying the pool for the entire afternoon, LOVED that slide. Funny, we loved SAB every day, but I didn't like that slide at all. It would've been awesome to have seen you at the pool too!

Thanks, Jillpie - yes, my DDs were already disappointed that your DS was too young for them!;)

You would have had to look in the hot tub at the BW pool- that's the coldest water I getting into this trip!:smooth:
When the grands get a bit older I would love to stay at BCV just to enjoy SAB!!

Do you think we could be lucky enough every year to leave home right before the coldest weather in almost 40 years?! - I'm already saving !
