We booked back in February and requested BW view. I had no idea until Sunday night, at a little DIS meet in the lobby where a CM (Julie) took our picture, that there is now a designated "BW View"...when did that start?? (Guess I have to start reading here again.)

I had also requested, and got, 2nd floor, which I love. I like not having to wait for elevators, and strolling down to the gift shop/lobby while waiting (and waiting  ) for everyone to finish getting ready. It also wasn't a hike from the lobby, which was nice...it was at the first bend, where the hallway is wider and there's a seating area.

We did get handicapped accommodations (Rooms 2047...1 BR and 2049...2nd BR (studio)), which I wasn't thrilled about. I missed the "shelf" inside the shower for all my "stuff" and I missed the seating area on the other side of the kitchen counter, esp for the kids. But, no biggie, esp since everything else...the location...was good. We could see a little of Illuminations above the ESPN Club.

I had requested NO Trash & Towel service, but got it for the one BR section, not the 2nd bedroom (studio). I specifically stated BOTH room numbers. We were only there for 4 nights, so I just didn't want to have someone coming in the day before we were leaving...it wasn't worth it for the one day; actually, I don't think it's worth it at all...I keep up with the laundry and wash the towels, and we can take out the garbage easily enough. I'd rather not have someone coming into our rooms, esp if I'm not expecting them...I would have had some things put away.

We had a difficult time sleeping one of the nights because of BW noise. This is our 2nd trip staying on the BW side, and never had problems before. There wasn't even anything going on on the boardwalk...it was very late, and there seemed to be a bunch of rowdy people hanging out there. Not sure what time this was...maybe DH knows.

The "stove decoration" didn't work in our room, which we didn't discover until the 4th night, when DH actually turned it on to make grilled cheese sandwiches. This was at 9:45 PM, and someone came quickly to fix it. There was only one frying pan, and it was small. DH said that he remembered having a bigger frying pan last year, because last year he could make 2 grilled cheese sandwiches at a time. ??

I hate that setup with no door to the jacuzzi area...am I the only one?? And next year, I'm bringing my own dryer...I need a heavy duty one, like we have at the Portofino.

All in all, we were happy with our room, LOVE BWVs, and am going through terrible withdrawal since arriving home (to 22 degree weather!) last night. :( It seems highly unlikely that we will be able to go at this time of year next year (which we've been doing for the last 6 years!) due to the kids getting older and the difficulty of taking them out of school. We'll have to fool around with our points and see what we can work out...we may have to bank them and skip a year (horrors!!!).

We had that same room in October.

We also thought the BW was a little noisy on some nights (didn't bother us every night).

I also didn't think the HA was a biggie. Wouldn't hestitate to take one again - as long as it was a one bedroom and had a tub. No tub with the kids is a problem.

We had the same problem with the stove - the burners get unplugged. All we had to do was plug in the burners, which they talked us through over the phone.

My husband thought the right side of the king bed had a trench in it. Well I did too, but I slept on the left and I'm not as picky. We'd reported it at the time - how was the mattress?

I agree with T&T. We'd actually washed towels thinking we had another day to go when our towels got replaced (I'm not a wash towels daily person). And the towels you wash are so much nicer than the ones coming from the industrial washer. The trash room is a little bit of a hike from that room though, but given all the walking we do at Disney, an extra 100 yards isn't a big deal.

And I didn't even notice the door to the jacuzzi. I used it once and shut the bedroom door, so it didn't bother me at all. The hubby has seen me naked often enough.

Great trip report - very informative and factual

Love the:

Tsk, tsk....see what you miss.

I think it was late summer they went to this and I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in the latest VM.

But, more importantly, we miss you here, too. Thanks for the trip report. Were you higher up last time when you had BWV? Could it be that being a little lower brings the sound in? I've found that the doors tend to block most noise but I've only been on the upper floors.
