Boy, am I so disappointed. We had dinner Wednesday night at Ohana's, it was our last dinner at the world and it was a disaster. :sad1:

Check in was fine, we were seated within 10 minutes of check in. that was the best part of the night.

After we were seated and got our loaf of bread, which was good, it took 25 minutes for us to see our server for drinks. Ok no problem, place is packed. 25 minutes later out come our wings and dumplings. stone cold. well of course now we are very hungry so we suffer through them. 20 minutes later out comes the brocolli and noodles, they are also cold. STOP!! now I'm a bit peeved, so I flag down a random server to speak with a manager. while waiting our server finally shows up and we explain that we don't like cold food. so another 20 minutes later out comes some hot stuff. well by now its 7:45ish (we had a 6:15 reservations) and we're a little worried we'll miss wishes at this speed. also manager never stops by.

Since server is not removing any old plates, sitting on our table, we've got pans full of cold wings, dumplings and brocolli with the new platters. It's now ~8:10 pm and I've had it. I tell my husband and kids to head over to MK and I'll stay and speak with the manager. no way am I paying 30 bucks a head for this. Let me ask, is it supposed to take 90 minutes before the food gets to you? We haven't even gotten our skewers yet?

Resolution: We did not have to pay for the meal and was offered an adr for next day (thursday) but of course we couldn't (nor would we would have) make use of it as it was our last day.

I don't know guys, I'm not a big fan of disney restaurants, I think their are mediocre at best so I was not going to complain but any time my 2 teenage sons think the meal sucks (they basically inhale any thing that they can cover with ketchup) its bad.

This is the first time I've asked to speak to a manager and refused to pay for any meal I've eaten

I agree with you, I dont know what the hype is...the food is nothing to get jazzed about, exept the dessert which is incredible...we were seated an hour past our reservation time and then the service was terrible, other diners were getting food before us and we were seated well before them.

Not a place we would go back to anytime soon...unless they have a huge menu change

Lately most people have been complaining that the food is coming out too fast. We've never gotten seated that fast either. It's interesting how everyone's experiences are different. Yours is the first I've ever read that was seated that fast and had cold food delivered so spread out.

Our food has always been hot, service has been prompt and our drink order is taken right away. We'll be there in Oct so we're interested to see how it goes. It's always our first night dinner since we ate there the first time.

We love Ohana but we never had a bad meal there like you did. If anything the food usually comes out too fast like they are rushing you to get out so they can bring in new people. We are eating there on the 17th and hopefully we continue our good luck there. But it is funny reading enough stories on here it really is the luck of the draw.....

Sorry that you had a bad experience there. We just ate there on the 28th and it was amazing. I wonder if it was an off night or something? Curious to hear about other people's experiences.

Gonna be there for the 1st time in Nov. Hoping for the best. We don't make a lot of ADR'S we like to play it by ear but I have wanted to try Ohana. Keeping my fingers crossed that we get a good nite!:)

Hmm...We just went for the first time and really enjoyed it. We will probably do it again next trip.

I cant believe you had such a horrible experience. Now, I have only been there twice but both times were amazing! It is definitely my favorite disney restaurant.

We had a really bad breakfast there after having several wonderful years of breakfasts. I wish I had insisted on a manager. I went and spoke with a host and our server got mad and was actually snippy. I obviously didn't speak with the right person. At the end of our meal, she talked up the kids and was a lot nicer, but by then, our meal was ruined.

We've had great luck with Ohana too. We eat there nearly every trip, and while some nights have been better than others, we've always greatly enjoyed our experience and the food there. (Drinks are great there too. ;) )

Funny, though, when I see comments about feeling rushed, I'm amazed. Never once has that happened to us there, or at any other Disney restaurant. If anything, we get the opposite where the whole meal takes too long. I don't think we've ever gotten out of Ohana in less than two hours.

I agree! We've always taken WAY too long...but we enjoy every minute of it! ;)
I'm sorry the OP had such bad service. I know how it can ruin things for everyone. We had a really bad stay at POR in June, and I know I don't want to ever give it another chance! :confused3

We have always like Ohana, a lot, but then we haven't been there in several years.

We've given Ohana 3 chances in the last 5 years. Each meal was scarred by either crappy, ill timed service or no service at all:confused3 I'm just not a fan of people throwing random plates of food on the table in no order (don't get me going about drink service) and listening to the gawd awful Hawaiian "entertainer". And I use the term "entertainer" loosely.:scared1:

It's my least favorite dining experience with the possible exception of WCC dinner service with the whole ketchup spiel and the awful "bottomless platter of grease" that some people rave about. Yep--love dinner service with kids running around servers carrying hot plates of food and drinks.:hippie:

Neither meal will ever qualify as a relaxing moment in Disney Dining.:goodvibes

Sorry you had a bad time, we were there on Monday and didnt experience any of that. Sometimes I wonder if it is just the time of the reservation. Try for a 5 oclock and see if that makes a differrence.

I am thinking it was an off night, only because I too have read so many reviews where the food came out very quick. It was almost as if the cm that seated us forgot to tell the servers that they had pace someone at our table.

I am very appreciative though that the manager did not give me any hard time at all when I said I would like ot be comped for the meal.

Well that's sad to hear. Ohana's was disgusting last year, this used to be one of our favorites. We wont be back either.

LOL,
Then of course he tried to have a coconut race in the middle of the floor, well of course the parents of all these kids then bombard the poor diners who are unfortunate enough to be sitting on the aisles trying to get pictures of their kids. not to mention the parents of toddlers who have to squeeze in the aisles to "help" their young ones participate.

I didn't mentioned it because I figured it annoyed me more because of the food issues.

Sounds like our first "dining" experience ar Le Cellier. Only, we paid for our "take out". We waited and waited..an hour and a half, after we we seated..still just bread and water. We were starving, and it was almost 10:00. It took several years, before we attempted LC again. Unfortunately, most Disney Dining has become a " hit or miss".

OP--glad you handled it the way you did!

I, too, cannot understand the hoopla over 'Ohana. We went several times when 'Ohana was new (back in the pineapple/caramel dessert days). We last went with a party of nine. Most of the meal was mediocre but I was holding out hope for the dessert. I told all the guests the rave reviews about the bread pudding. We were mentally prepared to want to lick the plates. Not ONE of the nine thought it was anything special. I just don't see a reason to ever go back (not withstanding having the lady with the annoying voice to entertain you or the recent health department issues 'Ohana has dealt with...).

We had a decent meal at 'Ohana, but nothing to get so excited about. Not sure why people rave about it as much as they do. The potstickers tasted much like the ones I can buy here in the freezer section at Costco and the wings were tasty, but I didn't love any of the meat skewers. Sorry you had such a lousy experience. We have been increasingly disillusioned with Disney's TS places; I'd agree that lot of them are mediocre at best.
