Just back from a great stay at AKL. Upgraded from pool view to Savannah/People Pen View. No complaints!

But here's my question. We found the temperature of the pool to be uncomfortably warm. After leaving the parks for some relaxing, we found the pool to be really un-refreshing.

Anyone else back from a July stay that can comment on their pool's temperature?

Thanks,
Kerri

PS: This was our only 'complaint' about our July trip! Everything was awesome!!

We just got home last night from Yacht Club. DH used the quiet pool and also said it wasn't very refreshing. He suggested that they needed to put 200 pounds of ice in it. :) Glad your trip went so well. We also had no complaints!

I don't know about AKL but our own pool here feels like a warm bath. I don't think there's much they can do about the pool temps in summer because of the size of the pools. There are pool coolers on the market but they are for residential pools.

Hi - we got back on Sun. from our week long trip and we thought the same thing. We were staying at FW and the pool water was very warm. :confused3

I agree. We were there from July 3rd to the 10th at pofq and the pool was gross. It felt like swimming in contaminated slime. We tried the pool twice and both times were in for about 5 minutes. You cool off faster by taking a cold shower and cranking the ac.

Hi, we got back on monday from a week at AKL also. The pool did feel very warm everyday, but I don't like to go into cold pools anyway. I always got cold when I got out and would get back in to warm up. :teeth: Congrats on your upgrade! We were upgraded also from standard to savanna, we were on sunset savanna, kudu trail and were far enough down that we had a very minimal view of the people pen unless we turned our head and looked directly at it. It blended well enough with the savanna. It was great seeing the animals everyday, though. The kids were thrilled!

Same for us too.We went July 3-11 and stayed at FW cabins and the pools were very warm. But we still had an amazing time just wished the pools were a little cooler. :mickeybar

We were at WL at the end of June last year and thought the pool was unbelievably warm. Not very refreshing at all. We were at WL this past June and it was much better this year. :flower:

If I remember correctly, the pool at AKL is heated.

Blech!

It was overly warm in June as well, but we found that when we stayed in it a long time, it did cool us off.

All of the WDW resort pools are heated, but not during the summer. The water is just very warm because of the hot weather.

Our pool here in AZ is extremely warm as we have had above normal temps. It is very difficult to keep a pool of any size cool with temps being high ... unfortunately ... we, too, often think about adding 200 lbs of ice but when we calculate how much ice it would take to cool 15,000 gallons of water ... we just live with the warm pool. So, it probably was uncomfortably warm this time of the year.

Glad you liked the AKL, though. When we go in Nov/Dec we often see steam rising from the water in the evening. At that time of the year it is "refreshing" but typically too cold for me. My blood has thinned since moving from Northern Idaho to Arizona.
