We just got back Sunday from a 10 day trip to Universal/Disneyworld!! The weather was good and crowds were the lowest we have seen this time of year (except for last Saturday).

Seriously, the crowds were low? That's music to my ears! We are leaving Monday and have been afraid that with the free dining plan, MNSSHP, and F&W that the parks might be packed. In Oct. '02, we had the parks to ourselves! I'll keep my fingers crossed that there's not a mass Exodus to WDW in the next week!

Welcome home! Did you go to EMH at MK at all? If so, how did you find them? Did you have to use FastPass much?

Yes, we thought the crowds were very low, but F&W Festival and MNSSHP had not started yet.... We did do EMH at Epcot once and at MK once (crowds were very manageable). Walk onto BTMR, Space Mountain, Pirates.

KathylovesPooh-There is information when you check in and at the parks about EMH and you can find them in advance on these boards or the disney website.
We only had to use fastpass for Soarin.

I was there last week too and crowds were extremely low. Walked up to Cinderellabration within 10 mins of it starting and stood in the 3rd row, without 3-4 feet between each row in front of us. Walked onto Soarin, Tower of Terror, etc.

The good (park) restaurants were booked as far as walkups were concerned, but I also was able to score great times calling for reservations the same morning, so be sure to call from your room and give it a try, rather than try to walk in.

Where can I get some info on the free dining plan? We made our reservations back in March and are leaving for WDW this Saturday. I've never heard of a "free" dining plan. Can I still get in on this?

Unfortunately...no. It was offered for only a limited time during mid-summer. It covered the last week of August through early October (I believe).

How did you get to Universal? Drive or the bus or taxi?

You could also use Mears. We went down with some friends who spent the day at Universal (we didn't go). They used Mears and they said it was about $13.00 per person round trip.
