My family and I just returned from eight wet days at the World! We had a wonderful time while we were there! We stayed at WL and upgraded at check in to the concierge level. We spent a lot of time at the Magic Kingdom with our five year old son. Some new things that we tried this time were: getting hair cuts on main street, the Family Magic Tour, the Pirate Cruise at GF, golf, water mice, HDDR, and my husband attempted (unsuccessfully) to complete the beers around the world tour in Epcot. If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer! We are looking forward to our next trip back to the World!

How did you like the Pirates Cruise, or should I say how did your son like it? Was it worth $30?

I just posted a question about the Family Magic Tour! I want to take my DD for her Birthday! How did your son like it? What did you think? I would love to hear your review!

How were the crowds?

Did the wet weather affect the crowd level in the parks?

Did you do any e-nights?

Did you do Early entry and if so how did it work out for you?

Kallison - the weather did not seem to affect the crowds. The parks were crowded the entire time that we were there! It was a sea of yellow ponchos! We did do two e nights, Friday and Tuesday. It rained on Friday night, so the e ride crowd was smaller than Tuesday night. Tuesday night was crowded. The wait time for Space Mountain was running from 20 to 25 minutes.

Noodles - I personally loved the Family Magic Tour, it was one of the highlights of the trip. It took a little while for my five year old son to warm up to the idea once he got there (he was excited up to the point of the start of the tour). It was based on the premise that Peter Pan was playing a joke on Captain Hook. When the CM said "Captain Hook" my son cried because he was scared. The CM was very understanding and gave him extra attention throughout the tour. The tour itself lasted two hours, with a fifteen minute break in the middle. We were able to hop, skip, jump, and run through MK! At the end there is a surprise! My son ended up having a wonderful time. As it turns out, I took a lot of video of it and then had my video camera stolen at MGM later in the day, so now I only have my pictures to remember the tour with.

sters - My son also had a wonderful time on the Pirate Cruise! He was unsure at first going on an outing without his Mommy and Daddy, but he went anyway. We saw more than one child crying because they did not want to leave their parents. The cruise lasted two hours and while they were out they had lunch (pb&j, juice, and gummies) and found "treasure" at the end. The "pirates" were also given pirate hats with Mickey ears. All things considered, I felt that it was worth the price. My DS had a great time and was eager to tell us all about his excursion! It aslo gave my wife and I time to explore the GF and ride the water mice!

What is the "Beers around the world tour"? Sounds interesting for my DH. Thanks!!

Did you fly out of BWI? If so, how was security? I have been reading a few stories on how bad the lines have been.

Thank you.

We live on the Lower Eastern Shore, and it is about the same distance between BWI and Norfok, VA. We used Norfolk this time because of cheaper airfares. All in all, Norfolk is much easier in / out than BWI.

BTW, we used BWI in early July to go to St. Louis for a convention there. Flew on Southwest. Long lines at the security points. So long in fact that the security people were directing us to another pier and then having us clear security there and walk back to Southwest's concourse through a secured area. Not much of an inconvenience at all and less than 10 minute total walking time.

Beers aroud the world -- not an official "tour". You have a beer in every country in Epcot. Wasn't able to finish because of the rains that day. I was walking through too fast!

As it turns out, I took a lot of video of it and then had my video camera stolen at MGM later in the day, so now I only have my pictures to remember the tour with.

I'm not sure how to insert another post in my post so I copied the above - how horrible your camera was stolen! We are leaving for WDW on Sat... Was it in a stroller or what was the set up so we know to be careful!

I'm sorry you lost all that!

Thanks for your advice,
annette

jaclark - My wife took our son to see the Stars In Cars Motorcar Parade at MGM. It was really crowded and my wife was trying to get in a spot where DS could see. Due to the crowds, my wife placed the stroller behind her. She had forgotten that the camera bag was hanging on the back of the stroller. We are guessing that the camera was stolen during the parade when there were a lot of people around. We filed a report and were hoping that it would be turned into the lost and found, but no luck so far. It was not a good way to end our wonderful vacation!
