Well our family vacation is sadly behind us, but we had a wonderful time. Of course there were hiccups with the POP Warner cheerleaders and the buses BUT overall after this trip I really have to commend Disney.

My family consisted of myself DH, Momma, Stepdaddy and Gramma and Papa - my grandparents are in their 80s. On Sunday night we had our last dinner at Tony's and during the meal my gramma went to the washroom where she got sick and fell in the stall and hit her head pretty bad. The response was amazing and truly made me feel that Disney cares for their guests. They closed the washroom, had paramedics there immediately and managers all around to ensure my family was taken care of. They transported my gramma to the Celebration Hospital and arranged for a Disney Van to take the rest of my family. They were so wonderful I can't commend them enough. Additionally, all services and transportation costs were covered by Disney. My gramma was discharged yesterday with a clean bill of health other than the large bruise and scrape on her head.

Additionally, there was a photopass girl there, I believe her name was Courtney, who had taken a family photo of us in front of the castle just minutes before. She happened to be in Tony's and realized it was our family. She came running over to give us a big hug and as we were being escorted backstage ran up to me with a copy of the photo she had just taken of us at the castle. What a sweetheart.

I love Disney.

Other than that, any questions?

Oh , i'm so sorry about your grandma. At least you found some happiness where you least expected it:)

I do have one question. was it really cold? we are going in feb and we are fron ND so anything will be warmer then that , but curious none the less. Also is there any sickness? such as stomach flu going around right now?

I'm from Saskatchewan, so for me it wasn't cold :) We were out at MVMCP and it was like 40 out - I didn't find it too bad BUT I had a lot of layers on and wore tights under my pants in the evening. It was colder than I expected but really nothing could have brought me down :)

In terms of the stomach flu - they aren't sure whether that's what my gramma had or whether it was food poisioning BUT the doctor's at the hospital said there was a lot of stomach illness going around yes.

We are from MI and found it to be chilly. Not to the point where we wouldn't do anything, but we did have a few layers on plus hats and gloves.

As for the illness, yes it is going around. Both dds got sick and dh and I didn't feel right. We spent a day in the hotel room after dd#1 being up most of the night and dd#2 getting sick on the bus (poor dh) the next morning. We did find that Epcot is a good way to spend a "no ride" day.

We were there at the same time, and enjoyed our days in the parks immensely despite the cold, but were afflicted with that lovely stomach bug as well. :( My son started projectile vomiting in the middle of orlando international right before we boarded the plane for home.
Glad to hear that Disney was so helpful in your Grandmas time of need, they are definitely a class act!!

And here I thought my gramma had food poisoning! Perhaps she actually had a stomache bug!

I'm going to move this to our trip report board.

I am so glad your Grandma was well taken care of! How scary it must have been for you guys!
