We were in WDW for 4 weeks and we had a car for the entire time, thanks to the DIS!!
It took a little extra this trip to be able to have a car that long, but it was well worth it. Especially on such a long trip. We were able to do US/IOA and spent a weekend in Tampa/St. Pete.
Dh arrived at MCO solo on May 28 (MeM day wknd) so I arranged for him to pick up a car from National for 2 nights.
Memorial weekend rates were higher, so we only paid that rate for the first two days ($60 total), returned to MCO on Mem Day (10pm) to pick up our car for the next 2 weeks and 5 days (19 days=$283 total). National allowed us to keep the Impala we were returning so new contract same car and we were off.
Our last week we booked the AVIS 1 way drive special out of MCO to DFW for 8 days ($185 total) so we went back to MCO to pick up our AVIS Town & Country minivan drove that for our last week at WDW, loaded it up and drove it home to Texas. We arrived home y-day and the drop off was excellent and AVIS service was great!
I used the PV code and Ent Coupon for our 19 day National rental and I dont think Ive ever seen the rate that cheap! It was $85 per week for a midsize.
So 3 trips to MCO (toll) and approx. $500 (all tax included) afforded us a 4 week fullsize/minivan rental and a ride home (plus gas). I thought this was an excellent deal. I was so happy I saw the AVIS 1 way deal on the boards, as it allowed us to cancel our flight home (luckily we had purchased 1 ways to begin with) and stay 2 weeks longer than planned.
