Just back and Q & C vouchers info!

the large meal we didnt try to get.. we didn't want it anyway, so that was fine... I'm sure you could get the individual one no problem, but we just weren't in the mood for it.

The cashier just keyed it in, but needed a supervisory key to override the coupon and the supervisor rekeyed it in. In the rekeying process we got an extra soup! I guess you could always try getting the larger meal and see what happens!

I didn't see any restrictions on any type of sandwiches.

Some cashiers just keyed things in no questions asked.. (ie Cosmic Rays, Electric Umbrella). One place stopped me from ordering a side item (ABC Commissary).. and all the other places (Roaring Forks, Tangieriene, Beaches & Cream, Mara, Pepper Market) told us we could get more things.

Thanks for posting your experiences with the vouchers, Cindy B. Sounds like it went really well for you. :D

Just to clarify: Are the Q&C vouchers useable at lunch only or can you use them at dinner? TIA

I thought you could use them for lunch or dinner ( from what the one long thread on vouchers on the restaruant one said) but you were limited to certain locations whereas the lunch vouchers were limited to lunch only at certain locations. hope I'm right cause i was planning on using them most days for lunch ( lunch voucher) and Q.c for dinner!yeah I just checked you can use it for both ( except it was on the first thread of the budget board)

YOu can use the Q & C for Lunch and Dinner.. so basically anytime that the restaurant is open from lunch to dinner... I had no problem using them as long as lunch was being served

Hello to all,

I had never hurd of the Q & C vouchers. But they sound like a dream come true to my budget. can anyone tell me where to go to get more information and to buy them?

on the beginning of this budget boardforum there is a thread about restaruants you can use the vouchers at. a few posts after the first one ( same thread) lists info for both the Q/c and lunch ( and maybe dinner too , can't remember for sure) vouchers. They sound like a great deal to me and i'm glad no one seems to be having problems using them.

CindyB,

Looks like we're eating at alot of the same places that your family chose during their trip. We have ordered 20 Q&C vouchers and 8 Kingdom Lunch (4 adult, 4 kids). The kingdom lunch will be for 2 meals at Rainforest Cafe (2 adult vouchers, 2 kids vouchers per meal for 4 adults and 2 kids).

We're staying at AKL, so I'd love to hear more about what you ordered with your vouchers at Mara. And, just about the food there in general.

Also, how were the portion sizes at the places you chose for your meals?

I've heard the Pepper Market has large portions (we'll eat there as well) but haven't heard much about Tangeriene or Yakitori House (can't remember if you ate there, though).

I'd love to hear more details really, about everything. I'm in planning mode BIG TIME with just 14 days to go.

Mara:

This is what we ordered, we went around lunchtime (around 1 pm or so)

We used three Q & C for all four of us.

The two adults (Me & DH) ordered the African Stew... it was fantastic.. but if you are used to usual American fare, it would be different.

It was a stew served in a bread bowl.. the stew had corn, meat (maybe pork?), and other vegetables... it was a lighter base (more yellow than a brown beef base). The taste textures were amazing, I tasted cumin, cilantro, and other exotic flavors (maybe green curry?).. DH and I really liked it, but we are very adventuourous eaters.

My kids shared a sausage personal pizza.. (I wanted them to try the tandoori chicken pizza, but they both decided on the sausage instead)

For sides, we got three orders of bread sticks (which came with marinara dipping sauce)

and deserts.. the kids got a desert pastry sampler, which had two zebra domes, and three choc mousse tarts (they were smaller, but they enjoyed them.. more of a petit four size than a large eclair size)

I got a HUGE piece of Carrot Cake.. thought about the cheesecake and decided against it. I picked carrot cake so DH & I could try each others deserts... he picked pecan pie. I'm not fond of pecan pie, so I didn't try any but he said it was good. The carrot cake piece was enormous and it had creamcheese frosting.

The kids shared the sausage pizza pretty easily. My son had three pieces and my daughter had two. The breadsticks were huge, so we wound up taking an order back to the hotel room and eating later..

Drinks were iether a large soda or iced/tea/lemonade.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Do you know if you would have been able to get a salad on the side with your soup, instead of the breadsticks? Or was the side limited to breadstick or fries?

~Leigh

We never made it to Yakitori...

but here is what we ate at Tangieriene

Here we used two vouchers...

The adults shared the meat lamb platter... the sides that came with it were tabouli, hummus, and lentil salad.. our extra side was an entire huge plate of rice...

The kids shared a platter of meatballs., and didnt really eat the rice. their side was hummus.

They also got frozen drinks for drinks.. and we got one of each flavor... and the desert were a chocolate cake/jelly roll type thing and our was fruit tart... the fruit tart was fabulous

does anyone have any experience using the vouchers at theresort restaurants/food courts, other than the Pepper Market or Beaches & Cream? I have used them before, just not at any of the resorts. thanks :)

I used them at Mara, and Roaring Forks.. Mara is at AKL, and Roaring Forks at WL!

For those that have used the Q&C vouchers I have a question? Here goes --- I was checking menus and wondered how they handle this type of thing with the voucher - at Peco Bill's you can order a cheeseburger and it comes with fries not a drink. So does that count as a combo meal or entree with side then get dessert. HELP! Confused. I'm trying to see if the vouchers are worth it for my family.

At rest. that don't have combo meal it seems the vouchers work out better. Tell me what you ordered with these vouchers.

Hi Cindy!

Glad to hear you had such great success using the vouchers! As you know we loved them too!

I don't know which resort you stayed at, but I was wondering how you fit your meals at resorts into your touring plans. Did you ever find it inconvenient to leave the parks and go to a resort for lunch or dinner?

Did you ever use a voucher at Norway?

Thanks!

The other resorts worked fine.. we wound up driving after bus fiascos... so after the parks (usually MGM or Epcot) we would drive to Beach Club..

The furthest out were Mara/Coronado.. but we timed Mara with an Animal Kingdom visit, and we just drove to Coronado.. (maybe a five minute drive)

It seemed like everytime we used a voucher it was different. Most places considered the fries that come with the combo your side, you then get a drink and dessert as well. We had no luck with them last time other than pre-paid lunches, we usually saved $1.00! Hoping to do a little better this time. Our biggest problem was finding a place on the voucher when we were ready to eat.

a little off the topic question but we are staying at POR and wondered if anyone knows if the s. floatworks is open since it seemed like a better deal than the riverside food court but since french quarter is closed????Thanks

Thats a shame, because we made at least $2/3 on each voucher, and we typically used three vouchers..

Usually a three voucher meal went for about $40-42 (a very decent return!), some went so high as $45/47

And some places, two vouchers went very far as well. At Beaches and Cream/Pepper Market/Tangieriene, all those bills were over $45.. for TWO vouchers.

One place (ABC commisary) we didn't get as high a return ($25 for two vouchers), but that was our our only time that happened.

We did go to Cosmic Rays, Whispering Canyon, Electric Umbrella which were very very liberal with the interpretation.
