Just back from 5 nights at BCV. Room 353, dedicated 2 BR. Room was in good shape. No complaints. Had a view of the higher fireworks. Sure are a lot of doors in there.
On Sunday I made it into the hot seat at Millionaire! It was awesome! I thought I would be more nervous than I was but it wasn't too bad. I missed at the 125,000 point question. That cruise sure would have been nice.

Just wanted to share with all of you!

Did you use the ever popular "guess as fast as you can" technique" on the first question to get into the hot seat? It is the best strategy because it give you a 1 in 16 chance of geting the combination right.

My strategy for the fastest finger was to quickly try to locate the first correct answer, start with that one and then randomly insert the others. If I had actually done that I wouldn't have got it right :earseek:
My initial guess was wrong but my fingers did what they wanted anyway and I got in.
So yea, I guessed as fast as I could. My son sitting right next to me was 3rd. He guessed too.

Not to get too technical, but I'd like to see a mathematical demonstration of the 1 in 16 odds here. Here is my list of what I think are the 24 possible combinations:

ABCD
ABDC
ACBD
ACDB
ADBC
ADCB

BACD
BACD
BCAD
BCDA
BDAC
BDCA

CABD
CADB
CBAD
CBDA
CDAB
CDBA

DABC
DACB
DBAC
DBCA
DCAB
DCBA

This should make the odds 1 in 24 rather than 1 in 16.

In different technical terms, there are 4 ways to pick the first answer, 3 ways left to pick the second answer, 2 ways for the third, and only a single choice for the last one. 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24.

Ralph, I was thinking the same thing - 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24 - good job!
