Just back and had to share the FUNNIEST comment!

It's always amazing to see how much ignorance there is concerning WDW. You would think that if you are going to drop a ton of money someplace, you would do some research, but evidently a lot of people don't. I have heard people getting off the monorail, at MK, wondering how long a walk it is to the 'golf ball'!!.

As an avid golfer and a Disney fan, I still refer to it as a golf ball. Hey, I think it improves the whole experience at some level. Any fellow golfers agree? :teeth:

Well, I have to admit I've been to WDW about 20 times and my whole family still calls it "the big golf ball" :o :)

What if you're inside the golf ball when One Mile High Mickey pulls out a one iron and hits it to Tomorrowland. Now that would be a ride. :rotfl2:

That shot would only require a pitching wedge. :teeth:

I like how so many people think that Disney World IS the Magic Kingdom.

I ask "While you were in Orlando, did you go to Epcot?" They say, "no we just went to Disney."

DUH!

This drives me CRAZY!!!!! It's all Disney you moron!!!!

We have friends of ours who have been to Disney a lot, but still call it the "golf ball". They know what it is, but their kids (now grown) started calling it that years ago. I think some people (us included) have family names for some of the rides and of course people hearing this will think that they don't know what they are talking about when really they are Disney experts and know EXACTLY what they are talking about. Still it is funny to hear some remarks. I always said I should write a book with all the comments I've heard over the years!!

Love the funny comments, but I wouldn't judge people by the fact they didn't do research. It's no-one else's concern but their own.

Well, my DH who hasn't been to WDW nor knows ANYTHING much about it... when I was planning our trip and deciding on which resort to stay at... he asked "Why don't we just stay at the Golf Ball hotel, doesn't the monorail go through it?" :rotfl:

Of course, he was a little confused, mixing them it up with the Contemporary, I guess. I set him straight though.

I have heard people getting off the monorail, at MK, wondering how long a walk it is to the 'golf ball'!! Or people that will tell you that the buses will take you anyplace. We had one group board the bus with us at AK, get off at AKL, and scream at the bus driver because he wouldn't take them to the GF!!! I tried to explain that only the park buses will go to the resorts but they had dinner plans for Boma and were traveling with a gentleman in a wheelchair, it was raining and they wanted door to door service. I told them to go to MK, then take the monorail to the GR. They wanted to know if it was a quick, covered walkway!!!! They couldn't go back to AK since the park had closed. Yep, people need to do some homework.

I don't know if I would use the word "ignorance". That's a pretty strong word. I think some may compare WDW to DL here in California. Many of our friends here think you can see WDW in a day or two and want to know why we keep going back.

Some people just aren't compulsive planners like the rest of us. In a way I'm sure that it has it's on benefits also. They are just there to enjoy their vacation and not worrying about seeing everything.
