So we were able to utilize the exchange at certain places but not all. It seemed to depend on the CM you encountered more than the actual location. For example, we went to Pecos Bill and the CM at the register told my brother he could switch out their desserts for another side. Before we could order though, another CM took her place and he said that was not an option and would not honor it. We didn't argue the matter as it hasn't really been announced officially from Disney....unless that happened while we were there and I missed that on the boards??
At OKW counter service, they let us without a problem the few times we ate there and didn't even seem to bat an eye at us asking to make the switch. Some places offered another drink instead of the dessert.
I haven't been since last July, but I can say it did seem like there were definitely a lot more options for snack credits. The weird thing it might be the exact same item and be eligible say at the bakery in MK, but not at Goofy's in DTD. So not sure why the difference there but I can confirm my kids shared a snack credit at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and it was a sundae for $5.39. Maybe always been a credit but I don't remember that. I loved using mine at Starbucks and adding the extra shots :yay: Again, that might not be new, but I wasn't able to do that last year!

Anyone want reviews of where we ate feel free to ask!
This go round we had:

OKW CS
Pecos Bills
Columbia Harbor House
Wolfgang Puck Express (several times)
Earl of Sandwich (several times)
Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles
Caseys....and they still have the cheese!!!! :cloud9:
Biergarten
Be Our Guest Breakfast
Pizza Planet
Contempo Cafe
Pizzfari
Lots of Starbucks
Ghiradelli....Can use snack credit there!
Plaza Ice Cream Parlor

The cashier told us anything under $5 dollars. However, when my girls ordered they both had a scoop with a topping and the total was almost $12 between the two of them and we were able to use 2 snack credits just fine. My nephew also got a float and the cheapest one on the menu is $6.25. Another cool thing was my niece used snack credits on our last day to buy their larger size chocolate bars. They are buy 4 get 1 free. So she took 4 to the counter intending to use snacks and the cashier said she still got the 5th one free!

Very cool to hear that they allowed that! We now have a Ghirardelli's about 30 miles away, but there is something special about getting to go to the one in Disney. Thank you for sharing!

Well there were 8 of us so we had quite a few things and everyone loved all of it! We did pre-order and I HIGHLY recommend this if you are wanting to enjoy the breakfast but also be able to get in a few rides before the park opens. We had our food within less than 10 min of going through the line and scanning our bands to let them know we had pre-ordered. I saw other tables waiting for quite some time.

Items we tried included:
Vegetable Quiche (this was mine and it was the least favorite at the table but it was still good)
Open Faced Bacon and Egg Sandwich
Eggs Florentine ( my 10yr old loved this! )
Assorted Meats and Cheese
The pastries that come with everyone's meals were okay but nothing to get overly excited about.

Oh jealous of that!! But yep, it is special to have in DTD and enjoy our shopping :) Always a must do on our list!

Preordering with a large party (9), is it confusing?

ETA: BOG breakfast. WE are going in AUgust, and I think if it seems to be okay, I want my family to preorder. Too many of us standing in that line!

Honestly it was easy for us! We made an evening of it. We got together and made Mickey waffles for dinner and pulled up the menu on the computer, streamed it through our tv so all could see, and placed our order! It was fun :) That is how we did our fast passes as well!

Were you all on the same dining plan? If you preordered for a large group, how did it work when scanning the bands to redeem your credits? I'll be traveling with my sister and her kids. We are all on one ADR, so the preorder is all done as one group, correct? Also, did you ever order an adult meal for a child on the DDP? If so, did you have any issues with that? Thanks!

What did you think of Pizza Planet? We are doing the QS plan next visit and this is on our list of places to try out.

We were all on the same dining plan, as we were in the same room, so for us it was pretty easy. We scanned one band and the pre-order showed up with all 8 orders. We didn't have any meals for children as both of my kiddos are unfortunately now considered adults in Disney....even know one still eats like a mouse! :sad2:

We always have Pizza Planet on our list. It is not the ultimate food in Disney, but for HWS it is one of the better options to us. The pizza is not bad, the salad is, well salad, and this go round my oldest went for a meatball sub and that was actually really good! The Olaf Carrot Cupcake was really yummy!

It's the same pizza you'd get at Pizzafari, which is basically frozen individual pizzas. It's not great, but the salads are a decent size and my daughter loves being able to eat at Pizza Planet.

Yes, you could always get the sundae at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor for a snack credit, just not that mini kitchen sink. I do have a couple of questions about BOG breakfast if you could please. The opened face bacon & egg sandwich...I know the eggs are poached but, are the whites completely cooked? Also, how is the meat and cheese tray? Thank you so much! :)

Also, forgot to ask about Wolfgang Puck Express. We have never eaten there and are thinking about eating there this coming trip. What is good there?

Chiming in on Wolfgang Puck Express...it's a must do for us. When we don't make it over there I miss it! Everything is good...from the meatloaf to the pasta! Worth every penny OOP and Def worth the QS credit.

Thanks for the feedback! I think our kids will enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant itself. We've never even been inside!
