Just Back and CBR is WONDERFUL!!!

We just came back on the 15th from a 4 night stay at Caribbean Beach. CBR has always been my favorite resort but I hadn't stayed there for 4 years. The recent rehab is a fantastic success!

We arrived very late at night, 11:30pm. You would of thought check-in would be quick but no. There were only 5 people in line but it took an hour to check-in. I think the CM's were new and they were also helping people with multiple problems regarding passes etc... I guess that would be my only complaint about CBR is the veeery slooooow check-in. I was just tired and wanted to settle in my room.

Another disappointment was that we didn't receive any of our room requests except a second floor room. We requested either Trinidad North, Martinique or Jamacia. We got building #11 in Barbados which is about as far from Old Port Royale as you can get. That is a risk you take with a late check-in and we didn't let it bother us one bit. Thankfully we did have a car and drove to Old Port Royale. We did have a corner room, Room #1148 to be exact, with a view of the parking lot and garden area.

On the positive side, the room was just lovely and very quiet. New carpeting (green with a palm leaf print) and wallpaper border, fresh paint, new tile in the vanity area, updated bathroom, bench seat with drawer, pegs on the wall to hang coats etc. on, and best of all new mattresses. The bed was so comfortable and I slept soundly every night which is very unusual fo rme. The room was also located very near the bus stop (we never used the buses as we had a car) and a short walk to the pool. We loved CBR so much that we are staying there again in December.

Glad to hear you had a great time. It's nice to see that even though you didn't get your room requests you didn't let it bother you. We stayed at the CBR several years ago and we loved it!! We are now a family of 5 so we haven't stayed there in a long time but we hope to stay there again soon. It's great to hear that the rehab was a success!

Don't you just love CBR??? I stayed there for the first time in March and it was beautiful...my room seemed brand new! We also got a corner room, in Martinique bldg 23 and loved it...I think that any room at CBR would be just lovely....the grounds are so pretty and I loved strolling along the beaches and laying in the hammocks listening to the steel drum music. Can't wait to go back!!!

we were there for 10 days in February and we wouldn't stay anywhere else. It was our 4th stay at CBR. We have resort hopped but still prefer CBR.
I am really glad to hear so many positive impressions of my favourite resort. Bruce

Disneylvr, welcome home! I stayed at CBR for the first time on my last trip and really fell in love with that resort. I had the best time and will not hesitate to stay there again in the future. It sounds like you had a wonderful vacation!

Thank you everyone! We really did have a wonderful trip and I highly recommend the Caribbean Beach Resort. It was lovely before the rehab and now it is even better. One thing I forgot to mention was the privacy curtain that divides the room from the sink/vanity area. Although it was just the DH and I can see where this would be a great addition for a family.

Welcome back, I am glad to hear you had a nice stay. We went to the CBR for the first time since it opend this past April. I found the resort to be lovely. I thought the addition of the privacy curtain to be great for a small family. I would love to plan another time there soon. I might consider two rooms if we can get a King room as one of the rooms. When we checked in it was slow also but i didn't mind too much. The CM tried to put us in Barbados also but I asked if they had another room closer to the main pool and OPR. She found us a room on the first floor in Trinadad N. I think that if you don't like the first room offered you should always ask for a better room. I had requested either TN or Martinique so that may have helped. I thought that it would be noisy on the first floor but it was not ever the whole stay. I found that it was more convient to be on the first floor also. We were only there for 4 nights and this was a trip with a frined so it was different than with my family. I have 2 teens so it may be better to have 2 rooms for us now. The children really enjoy being on the monorail and would rather have to stagger showers and things for the convience and the balcony of the Poly. I don't know how much longer this will be the case. I have a feeling that if we go again next year we will be staying in 2 rooms and taking friends for them. I guess we will see. Things seem to change quickly with this stage in developement.

True, if you are unhappy with your room request a change. But please keep in mind that there is no way that they can accomodate each and every guest request so please don't arrive expecting that. You are only setting yourself up for disappointment. We had a car so Barbados was perfectly okay but it might not have worked out so well for everyone. After waiting almost an hour to check in at 12:15am I wasn't about to request a room change for a short 4-night stay. My main concern was getting to bed so we could be rested for a day at the MK.

I'm in TN bld 32 now. I could see it being a problem if you had to stay in TS or Barb without a car. It's really far away. I faxed my room requests and gave them 5 buildings I'd perfer. They said they were over booked, but I did get the last building on my list - TN 32. In a little over 2 days I've made about 12 trips to port royal. You're taking a chance if you are thinking you can stay close to the port.

The rooms are really, really nice, though.

We just came back from CBR and we loved it. We ended up in Barbados because we checked in early and a room in Martinique was not available yet. We loved it because the weather was wonderful and the walk to Old Port Royale and the pool was beautiful (my kids loved all of the ducks, birds, bunnies that we saw along the way). The service was great and housekeeping always did something cute with the kids toys (I'm sure all of the Disney hotels do this). We loved walking around the entire lake and finding all of the hidden bridges and paths and we watched the fireworks from the beach. We will definitely be coming back to this resort because of it's incredible beauty and service.

Glad to hear all the good things about CBR. We will be staying there for the first time June 28-July 2. Have stayed at all the other mod's Actually my first ressie was for ASMo but called back and got a very nice CM asked her to try some of the codes I found on Mousesavers and wound up getting CBR for less than I was going to pay for ASMo.

I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY TO SEE GOOD REPLYS ABOUT CBR WE ARE GOING THIS JULY 19TH -26TH AND CAN NO WAIT ESPECIALLY THE KIDS. WE ARE EVEN TAKING OUR 10 YEAR OLD COUSIN SO IT IS HER FIRST TIME GOING ALSO. WITH IT BEING OUR FIRST TIME GOING I WANTED EVERYTHING TO BE PERFECT. PRACTICALLY ALL THE DIS REPS KNOW MY NAME BECAUSE I CHANGED OUR RSVP ABOUT A GOOD 80 TIMES. I WENT FROM CBR TO AKL TO BC WITH THE DISCOVERY PACKAGE CHANGED THAT TO RESORT MAGIC CHANGED THAT TO ROOM ONLY CHANGED THAT TO RESORT WITHOUT THE FLEX BACK AND FOURTH BACK AND FOURTH MY HUSBAND GOT TO THE POINT WHERE WHEN HIS COWORKERS ASKED HIM WHICH RESORT WE WERE STAYING AT HE HAD NOO CLUE AFTER ALL THE SWITCHING I AND MIGRAIN HEADACHES I CANCELLED OUR RESERVATION AND DECIDED TO STAY DOWNTOWN DISNEY AND THE SWITCHING CONTINUED THERE ALSO 2 WEEKS LATER AND A HALF BOTTEL OF TYLENOL I FINALLY SETTLED ON CBR AGAIN. MY HUSBAND SAY'S ITS A MIRACLE I HAVE NOT CHANGED IT AND IM ACTUALLY SHOCKED MYSELF. YOUR POST REALLY HELP ALSO BECAUSE I REALLY LOVE THE WAY CBR LOOK AT DIFFERENT WEB SITES THE BEACH LOOKS VERY COOL ALSO. I CAN'T WAIT TO EXPERIENCE CBR AND NEITHER CAN MY FAMILY I'M PROUD OF MYSELF I WILL DEFINITELY KEEP MY RSVP
