Just as a reminder, the players are:

Me - Brad, loves to eat and drink but gets full way too fast
DW - Lisa, short & skinny but can eat me under the table

Our stay:
10/24 - 11/4 @ POR

Day 3 (10/26):

As we had imagined, we both woke up way too full for breakfast. So it was on to Magic Kingdom for a few quick rides. At first we were worried this was a bad idea (what with it being Saturday and all), but our fears weren't necessary. We walked onto every single ride with no wait whatsoever. Amazing stuff.

Following our quick trip through the MK, it was on to:

Lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe (no PS) -

We had eaten here our last visit ('96) and loved the atmosphere, so this was a must for both of us. We arrived at approx. 12:30 and waited 15 minutes (give or take) for our table. Our "brother" Mark was fantastic - he knew we were into the theme so he really turned it on for both of us.

For Lisa - Traditional Meatloaf and (of course) a water
For me - Old-Fashioned Pot Roast (I was having trouble deciding on this or the Chicken Pot Pie and Mark made my mind up for me) and a PB&J milkshake (have I mentioned that I love sweet stuff?)

I can not put into words how yummy my pot roast was. The meat simply fell apart on the fork, yet was still extremely moist. Delicous! Lisa's meatloaf was very good too, but we both agreed mine was better. This led to the meal's funniest moment -- as the table next to us was ordering, they asked Lisa what she thought of the meatloaf. She innocently said, "It's good, but the Pot Roast is better." Next thing we know, Mark grabs her meatloaf (half eaten) and just walks away with it. A few minutes later he's back with a brand new, full plate of pot roast for her. Absolutely hilarious!

Oh, forgot to tell you about the PB&J shake. Holy little-slice-of-heaven, Batman! WOW!!! Best milkshake I've ever had, period.

Our grade for 50's PTC - 9 out of 10
Our total bill (not incl. grat.) - $33.36, obviously no charge for the 2nd entree for Lisa ;)

This meal kept us full the rest of the day until dinner time. I had originally planned for us to eat at Wolfgang Puck's this day, but with all of the less than favorable reviews I've seen here, we decided instead to try:

Portobello Yacht Club (no PS) -

Lisa pushed hard for Fulton's instead, but I had an awful experience there in '96 and refused to go back. We arrived here around 7:00 and waited in the bar (I ordered a Belini and Lisa had, of course, water) for approx. 15 minutes. Rebecca would be our waitress and took our appetizer order:

For Lisa - Florida Stone Crab Claws
For Me - an Arrowood Merlot (I was still kinda full from lunch and decided to skip appetizers tonight)

Lisa is in heaven when eating crab claws and this was no exception. My Merlot was fruity with mild tannins, a decent if unspectacular wine. On to dinner:

For Lisa - Charcoal grilled center cut of beef filet with wood-roasted vegetables, red skin potatoes and white truffle sauce
For Me - Prosciutto and Sage-wrapped yellowfin tuna wood-roasted with aged balsamic vinaigrette and roasted vegetables

Following on the heels of our two prior dinners, both Lisa and I were disappointed with these entrees. Neither stood up well in comparison. Lisa's filet was ordinary (the cut of meat at California Grill was so much better) and my tuna, while tasty, didn't meet my expectations. Of the two, we both felt my tuna was better.

We were both so disappointed with dinner that we discussed skipping dessert...then I woke up from that little nightmare.

For both - Crema Cotta Carmellata (Creme Brulee w/ raspberries and white chocolate)

This absolutely saved the meal for us. I thought I had tasted really good creme brulee before. Think again! This was awesome. If you ever go to Portobello, skip everything else and just have a Belini (which was great) and creme brulee and you'll be in heaven.

Our grade for Portobello - 7 out of 10 (this would be 5 out of 10 without the creme brulee)
Our total bill (not incl. grat.) - $105.48 (this includes my belini and a coffee for Lisa)

We spent the rest of the night laughing at the Adventurer's Club (in PI), wishing we'd eaten elsewhere (with the exception of dessert of course). The one good thing was that tomorrow would be our first Signature Dinner! (hint, hint -- don't miss Part 4!)

:jester:

I am really enjoying your reviews. Keep 'em coming!

BTW, my DH and I didn't like Fulton's when we ate there in 98. We're very hesitant to go back, too.
