Just back.... a few observations.

Oh, I forgot to say that I too have had problems with the wheelchair access in Planet Hollywood. We were pretty lucky, in that we were only one row of tables in, so only had one set of people to squeeze passed, but my main problem was with the toilets. I went and asked where the disabled toilets were, and was told I'd have to go right down to the bottom floor, so off I went in the one tiny elevator, that seems to be used by about half of the restaurant's customers at the same time. When I got there, the stall was pretty tiny, and the toilet was completely blocked. So off I went again, to try and find a member of staff to ask. After being ignored for five minutes or so, I was told there was another toilet further up (can't remember which floor). So off I rolled, yet again, to find this one. This time, when I got there, there was no way on earth I was going to fit my chair into this cubicle (barely bigger than a regular stall), even though my chair is a fairly standard size. In the end, I was directed to one on the very top floor, which was a single large cubicle, opening into the restaurant seating (not sure how hygienic that is, but by this point I was beyond caring). Oh, and the people repeatedly rattling on the door handle while I was in there (despite my many calls of "just a minute"), really put that final cherry on the top! It must have been about fifteen minutes between my leaving the table and getting back to it; my mother thought I'd fallen down the toilet, or something :lmao:

Anyway, that's my little (hmmm... well, not that little :rotfl: ) rant over. Once again, sorry you had those bad experiences, mykidsintow, but I'm glad the holiday went well over all! :goodvibes

I was semi satisfied with the managers BS explanation. However, knowing others have problems makes me feel the sudden urge to write a letter. ::yes::

Planet Hollywood does have problems - here's our encounter 3 years ago:

That trip we had 2 push chairs in our family of 4 - my grandma always used one for long distance walking as she had a touch of emphesma, and my aunt needed one after a long illness that year.

We got to Planet Hollywood and their elevator was out of service, so the kid (yes he looked all of 12 years old, I'm sure he was 17, but facially looked 12) took us in the service elevator. Well, he got us off at the wrong floor and here come 2 wheelchairs thru the KITCHEN!! Man we got some dirty looks ;) Anyhow the kid looks ready to pass out from his mistake and keeps pressing the elevator button to get us up to the correct floor like it would make it come quicker, then took us up to the 3rd floor and made us sit way in - we had to move so many chairs! We were the only ones up there even when we left but I dont' know why they insisted on moving us all the way in!!

I dunno, guess that place has a ton of issues, they might need some training for their staff on different abilities!

Sometimes I just really can't understand how people can be so insensitive... I'm sorry you had to go through some of those things. However, I just LOVE how you ended your story. She looks like she has magic in her eyes in the photo with the princesses. How wonderful :)
