Well-just back and wonderful (except for Narcoosee's) dining experiences. More on that later, once I take care of the lawn, etc etc etc
Our breakfast spots were Kona, Boatwrights, Boma, Maya Grill, and Olivias. All were excellent!!
Largest portions were at Boatwrights (that omlete is excellent!!) and they get best potatoes award as well. Best bacon at Maya Grill-thick and so tasty!! Best coffee a tie between the Kona at Kona, and the Kenya AA at Boma. The carved pork loin at Boma is also a breakfast favorite!! Best grits award goes to Olivias.
Would have probably have gone back to Fresh and Spoodles also, but "group" considerations prevented that.
Any questions???

Welcome home, Uncleromulus! I'm anxiously awaiting your dining reviews.

One quick breakfast question - any special recommendations (besides the coffee of course) at Kona? I'll be having breakfast there for the first time in December, and I'd love to hear what you and Mrs. Uncleromulus had.

Thanks! :)

I had the "Big Kahuna", which is a little bit of everything--french toast, eggs, bacon, pancake, etc etc. Probably a bit too much for a light eater, but just right for me. Two of the other diners (including Mrs. U) had the standard eggs and bacon , and the other had the standard French Toast (not the bananna stuffed variety). All were pleased. Should add that the potatoes continue to remind me of "steak fries" rather than home fries. Pretty bland, and required dipping in Catsup for the better taste.

Thanks! I'll be meeting a large group of friends for breakfast, so I'll recommend the Big Kahuna to those with bigger appetites. I'll probably have the regular french toast myself.

Welcome back. :sunny:

Did you make ARs for breakfast at all? If not, was the wait long?

Also, I remember you were planning dinner at Coral Reef. Sorry to get you off the topic of breakfast but just wanted a quick bit of advice. I'm thinking of having lunch there this trip and am wondering if you would return. Not trying to rush a review here, just a thumbs up or down as we leave at zero dark hundred tomorrow am. Thanks.

Looking forward to all your reviews as they are the highlights of the restaurant board for me. :cool1:

Coral Reef-- a bit to my suprise--two thumbs UP!!! I'll be doing a review soon, but it was overall quite nice. The food was very good, service excellent, saw divers etc "entertaining" in the fish tank, and they have their OWN draft beer--Reef Brew, much like the old Safari Amber.
And no to any breakfast ADR's. The only wait was about 5 minutes or so at Boma--all others were walk-in's.

Welcome back...thanks for posting :sunny: Did you need an ADR for breakfast at Boatwrights? We are staying at POR in a few weeks

Thanks...Terri

:wave2:  :wave2:

Not needed the day we ate at Boatwrights--a walk-in, no wait. Was about 8:15 AM

What else was a hit at Boatwrights? We're staying a few nights at POR next week and might stop in for breakfast before one of DH's tee times.

The "Boatwrights' breakfast" (standard eggs, bacon, potatoes) was good, and the person who got the Crescent City French Toast liked it a lot. Coffee was also prety good, tho I forgot to ask what brand they served.
But that Omlette is wonderful--up to 13 ingredients--got mine this time with ham, bacon, sausage, onions, and 4 different kinds of cheese!!!!!

I'm surprised about your Narcoossee's comment - the suspense of it all!

Anyway, just wondering if you drove to all of your breakfasts, or did you take WDW transportation. I'm always nervous that it will take forever to get to another resort for breakfast, so only try this on our non-park days. But DH loves a big "protein" breakfast instead of just muffins or bagels.

Welcome home. If you lived up near us, your lawn would be a beautiful shade of brown by now. No more cutting!!!!!

Welcome back! Looking forward to reading all your reviews. They're a highlight of my RB experience too!

Staying at POFQ for a couple days over Thanksgiving and plan on hitting Boatwrights up for breakfast one morning. I'll try the omlette!

thanks for sharing your review. I look forward to reading more.

Not as suprised as I was at how poor a meal (mostly service, but some poor food too) we had at Narcoosee's.
And we drove everywhere--
Today--of course, when I need to cut my lawn--it's raining!! But no complaints as we really need it-and more.

Thanks for the response about Coral Reef. We haven't dined there for years but will try to fit it again this time or next.

I'm curious about Narcoossee's too. We're not dining there this trip but are planning to do so next trip as it is probably our daughter's favorite WDW restaurant for dinner. Sorry to hear about the service. Some in my family had bad service there a couple of years ago but we've been back since and had good service. This is the second time in recent weeks when someone was unhappy there.

Thanks for the reviews! I love the potatoes at Boatwrights too, and my DH loved their omlette. I also like the sweet potato pancakes.

Uncleromulus: I AM BREATHING INTO A PAPER BAG! I have read pros and cons regarding Narcoosse's and had thought about cancelling my ADR. We leave in about 3 weeks...help. I will send my husband down to mow your lawn for you. If I cancel, what other signature restaurant would you suggest? We are already eating at CA Grill. Thanks.

As another Uncleromulus fan who highly values his opinions, I totally understand your anxiety.

Well, if it's raining and you have no trees to clear off the property this year :teeth: ...we are all anxiously waiting!!!
