Thanks for the report. Sounds like a great trip. Hopefully Disney does the right thing and compensates you in a different way for MNSSHP, the 1 day hoppers would be great if you could use them but since you can't they should do something else.

Idk if they will do anything more or not. Even if they extended the 1 day hopper to have no expiration date that would be great. In the end, it was a great trip and whether Disney does anything different to compensate us or not, it won't change my opinion on Disney. I still love Disney and look forward to going back. I just figured that I would try to ask for something different since we won't be able to use the 1 day hopper. The worst they can say is no and then I'm in no worse position had I not asked.

We went to MNSSHP on the 13th as well, and the rain was disappointing. But once it stopped between 9-10, the night was fantastic and went off as scheduled! The fireworks were at 10:15, parade at 11:15. These were the scheduled times as listed in the map they handed out at the beginning of the night when you also got the trick or treat bag. They did cancel the first parade, but the rain just wasn't letting up. We had dinner, waited around for a bit, did some trick or treating in our ponchos, then hit up the laugh factory. When we finished in there, the rain had stopped for the night. After that, it was fantastic! Walked on all rides - literally no wait times even if a wait time was posted. And lots of candy. The biggest wait times was for photopass Magic shots. And we did get our picture taken while it was raining at the exit of the tiki room- so they were out, just harder to find probably because of the rain. And yeah, the ones that do magic shots at locations out in the open would not be able to while it was raining, but they were out before 10.

Update: Disney called me today and surprisingly were very nice and gave me a full refund on my tickets for MNSSHP. I was very shocked they did but am very happy and appreciative. Disney just gave me another reason (cause I really need another reason lol) why I love them so much. I think their decision to give me a full refund was above and beyond my expectations and just shows how great their customer service response is.

Thanks for your report! I am bringing my 3.5 year old niece (and her parents lol!) to WDW next year and am so excited . My own kids are teens now and have forgotten (or blanked out haha) what that stage was like.

I am so thrilled to have the chance to share WDW with a little kid. I didn't take mine until about 8/9 (for that 1x in a lifetime trip - u know how that story goes). Your tips are very helpful - especially since I will be doing all the itinerary planning for the whole group. My SIL is already shaking her head at me (in a nice way)!

We were there from 9/7 to 9/16 and couldn't agree more with the crowds. We barely waited for anything more than 10 minutes or so. It was need-another-shower-by-9am hot but we took a break each afternoon by the pool at The Contemporary. I was at AK that Tuesday night and the water was ankle-deep by the tree as I walked through the rain around 7pm. The one night I tried to ride Everest in the dark didn't quite work out.
