Just Back 8 nights at AKL.

Just back from AKL. I have to say we were all impressed with this resort. Construction/noise not an issue. Only complaint was probably the buses, they were a little slow the last 2 days but great every other day. Only had to stand once returning from MGM.

We will be there in December and can't wait. The bus system can be hit & miss at any of the resorts. But I have had the shortest wait times at AKL compared to the other resorts I have stayed at.

Since construction noise was not an issue for you I was wondering your room location. I have read posts that any rooms on the Sunset Savana would see and hear the construction of the new AKV building.

Glad for you re: the construction noise. So many were concerned about this and changed their plans, or were moved by Disney in the recent past. I too would be interested to know where your room was.

Did Mara sell the Year of a Million dreams mug, that all the resorts sell now? Or did they just have the "Mara" mug? Did you like the food there?

For some strange reason, I just got the Mara mug. As I said before, it was late at night and they got it from the back since I told them how much i loved the AKL. Maybe this was just a fluke.

We had a pool view room on the 4th floor off the lobby. There was construction above us on the 5th and 6th floors but was never an issue with any noise. We walked down by the rooms near the new building construction and while you could see the construction there was little noise from it.

We got the year of a million dreams mug at Mara the same ones that are sold at all the resorts. Did see some people with Mara ones, but didn't see any for sale.

We had good luck when we last stayed at AKL. I think we are leaning towards returning next October!

We'll be there 12/9-12/15 this year and can't wait to return. It's tough being only able to take 1 trip annually to the world, but we go all out and have a great time. DD3 is definetly excited about returning too. We watch the AK and AKL shows from the Travel Channel. Too bad we had to upgrade DVR's and lose the Christmas Holiday special, but that should be back very soon so that we can once again record it to watch throughout the year.

For everyone going 2nd week in December, watch out for the green Mickey heads with either my screen name or "Perez Family" on them. If you can't see the green Mickey heads, you'll be able to spot us with San Antonio labeled shirts that at least one of us in our party will be wearing (most likely San Antonio Spurs, SeaWorld San Antonio, or Rain Forest Cafe Riverwalk shirts).
