Went with my two daughters and my Mom and stayed at Coronado Springs for 6 nights. Here are my observations:
- Coronado Springs Wow, that's a beautiful resort and it never felt busy except in the Mercado food court. Casitas building 4 was perfect for bus and pool.
- Dig Site Pool We went swimming 5 of the 7 mornings and such a nice pool and slide.
- Excellent cast member experiences all week. Helpful, kind, funny and genuine. Very impressed.
- I wrote 4 #CastCompliment Tweets and could/should have written several more for above and beyond service. Sad note ~ A cast member helped 2 kids who were lost. One kid was pretty emotional and cast member did a fantastic job comforting him. Mom showed up a few minutes later, yelled at the two kids and walked away. No thank you. Zero appreciation. We were in such disbelief we never ran after the cast member to get her name. Kicking myself for that.
- I was really impressed with Disney's organization of SWGE opening day. We got there around noon and even though it was crazy busy inside, cast members were directing traffic and keeping the walkways safe and movable.
- LOVE LOVE LOVE the Quick Service Dining Plan. I never felt a need to order the most expensive item and more importantly, I ordered exactly what I wanted without compromising and ordering a meal for $2 less to save $ but which I wouldn't enjoy as much. The alcohol was also a nice option.
- The cauliflower tacos at Pecos Bill may have passed the chicken bowl at Sautli Canteen for my favorite QS dish at WDW.
- It was crazy hot but we found water to be available all over and plenty of places to duck out of the heat for 20 minutes.
- Alien Swirling Saucers did not make me nauseous (get motion sickness easily) and it's just impossible not to laugh when on it.
- Longest wait all week was 14 minutes in the FastPass+ line for Jungle Cruise. FP+ were so easy to find for EVERYTHING (found SDD and FOP but didn't go on them) for our party of four and within 20 minutes.
- Hadn't been to Tom Sawyer's Island in 20+ years but it was surprisingly really fun to walk around and explore.
- The MNSSHP time absolutely flies! Our main targets were the parades and fireworks so we weren't disappointed but no time for any character meets nor many attractions.
- We didn't get to a park before 11 any day because of swimming in the morning and I don't regret it at all. Nice way to start each day.
- Aqua Design Rashguard swim shirts are for real. I felt comfortable in the pool and it dried almost instantly. Do order 1-2 sizes bigger than a normal shirt. $50 and well worth it.
- Memento Mori has WAY too many cool things for sale in there.
- Popcorn buckets may be the death of my bank account forever.
- The Frozen Sing Along is the most entertaining show at Walt Disney World. And that's saying something considering how good Festival of the Lion King is. The chemistry between Historians Erik and Aria is fantastic and their spontaneity to crowd reaction is awesome. @EquityBen
- We like to try different views of HEA and stood right in front of the Christmas Shoppe. We could see the projections really well and a unique view of the fireworks (and not crowded, shhh).
- I brought 100 glow stick bracelets ($8 online) for my 5 year old to hand out to other kids at night at the parks. That might have been her favorite thing she did all trip and many of the kids were so excited for such a small gift.
- I don't know how anyone can not cry when Mickey and the gang sing at the end of the Magical Express bus ride to the airport.
Until next time...
