Just Back 5/28-6/4 Dining Plan and Restaurant Reviews

This was the first time we did DDP so I dont know what the snacks were before. We were able to get large bags of chips, boxes of Entenmens doughnuts, etc as a snack.

As far as Spirit of Aloha, everyone's seated at once, they make an announcment and out comes the chicken, ribs and rice. Then the show continues as everyone is eating, it just seemed very "production line" like to me. The server received a very nice tip, for essentially refilling our glasses and maybe bringing out more ribs or chicken. No personality or interaction.

We also ate at Boma and decided we would not go back. It used to be one of my favs, but the food is heavily spiced and much more authentic than it used to be. My dh and I had plenty to eat and are very adventurous, but neither of us thought it good enough to go back.
We also ate at Concourse Steakhouse (after cancelling my Coral Reef ressies). I had prime rib, which was not very tender.(It was actually better at Crystal Palace) Dh had filet with blue cheese and said it was very good. I also had lobster bisque which was wonderful. Our server, Bonnie, was great.
We stayed at CSR and loved PepperMarket. The portions are huge and the food is prepared fresh, so there is a bit of a wait. Dessert was a bakery item. We usually got the pecan rolls and had them for breakfast the next day. Also offered were three types of chocolate cake, strawberry cake, cheesecake, cinnamon rolls, croissants, baklava(or something very similar) and a few others I can't remember right now. If I had to do the dining plan over again, and I was staying at CSR, I would choose a couple signature restaurants and share lunch at PepperMarket. We have eaten at many of the disney restaurants and weren't bowled over by any this time. In fact, we both agreed that Teppanyaki was our favorite this trip. We also liked the Maya Grill.

I was looking up the Concourse menu on allears and didn't see buffalo on it. Was this something included in the dining plan?

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

The buffalo was a special that night at the Concourse Steakhouse. I'm not sure how regularly they have it.

We also ate at Earl of Sandwich, for a counter service meal, and it was fantastic.

How is it that main street was so empty for your picture. There is no one there??? How did that happen?

LuvTony - we had an early adr for crystal palace, I think it was 8:25 a.m., and the park didn't open until 9:00 a.m. that day. If you have a breakfast before the park opens, you are allowed in without almost anyone else there and you can take as many pics as you want!!

Oh yeah! Duh. Last year we had morning breakfast ressies at the castle. We didn't pay any attention to how empty the park was on the way in, we just rushed up to the castle!!! This year I intend to pay attention and get some pics before we get in. Our ressie is for 9:10 so hopefully it won't be too crowded at opening time. Thanks for the info the picture is really great.

I love hearing all of the restaraunt reviews especially with the dining plan! We will be doing this in September. Thanks for posting them!
