Just Arrived, Triple Dipping

I just got back and noticed the following:

Old keys no longer work...

I had a split stay and ended up with 3 room keys by the 8th day of our vacation and was able to pull from all 3 keys plus our tickets...

walked up to Tower of Terror at 9:05 and new fast passes had a 9:05 return time. I pulled a set of FPs and saw that the next FP was available immediately. I was able to walk to the next next machine and pull another set. I was able to do this at each machine. I was able to replicate this at Star Tours the next day....

I had a problem with a paper fast pass and tried to bring it to the attention of Guest Services... I was told that since we had magic bands, we were not allowed to pull paper fast passes. When I questioned why they keys still worked, I was told that "only greedy jerks" would pull paper fast passes. Needless to say I was shocked and complained further up. This was backed by two more CMs, so I just walked away...Formal complaint letter is following....

That's horrible. So Disney is lazy, opens up this massive loophole for their testing which has been going on for months now, and then makes customers feel bad about it.

No you didn't. Someone asked if you called or went to the front desk. Your exact answer was "front desk, why?".

Fair enough. Having said that I thought it could be gleaned from saying 'front desk' that I went to it. Regardless, as I said earlier I never left Defcon 5 and our trip is going great.

Triple dipping working great today at DHS.

I forgot to mention a hole in the process I noticed yesterday. I did not take advantage though. Splash mountain had the second FP + scanner turned off. So you could enter the line with paper fastpasses and be waived through the second checkpoint by simply showing your MB and not having to surrender your paper fastpasses. Unless I'm missing something, this would allow for repeated riding during the paper fastpass window.

I haven't used MBs yet. So, you would show a paper FP at the entrance, and then no one collects it further on down the line? How does the second FP+ scanner enter into it?
Doing a quick edit...I really don't know how this works. This isn't a continuation of any prior posts.

Let's not let the chronology get in the way. I had earlier said I went to the front desk.
OBJECTION, Judge Judy! Assumes facts not in evidence! Haha! Lawyers these days.....

<<<<<< Raising Hand

Ummm, I've got a question... in regards to the M&M's on the floor... where they peanut or chocolate? Because, ummm...well, it might make a difference to some of us.....

:)

M&Ms. Why?

If you're redeeming a FP+ with your MB, you have to scan it at the beginning and then later at the checkpoint in the line. So, if they had the scanners turned off at the inside checkpoint, a guest could enter the FP line with the paper FP, pocket it, and then just show the MB to the CM at the inside checkpoint, who would presume the guest got into line with a FP+ and not a paper FP. That guest would never have the (pocketed) paper FP taken from him or her, so could use it to reenter the line immediately upon finishing their first ride.

I'm guessing doing this would give you maybe one extra ride, particularly on Splash, since your FP windows are only an hour and it typically takes around 25 minutes just to ride Splash.

I got back yesterday. Regarding old KTTW cards, at Buzz Lightyear, they did not work. A card came out that said, 'your ticket was not used for admission today at MK'.

A fastpass ticket cannot be issued. Etc.

Then I used the same ticket at TT the next day, and it worked.

So as usual, ymmv.

I hid my MB when I was pulling paper fp's. I didn't want any CM's bugging me.

Gotta love the mob-style mentality on these boards. Pig pile on the OP time. Seems to be the same d-bags every time. C-YA..........

Has anyone reported being bugged about it? If I wasn't on this board I honestly wouldn't even know it was frowned upon. We have RFID AP cards and bands. I haven't seen any official word that I can't use both for FPs.

This sounds like an all-too-common experience at Disney these days. They could have explained it better without resorting to the name calling.

I hate to say it, but it doesn't surprise me. Disney hasn't felt like Disney in a really long time. Even in my work location, I see this every day. Although deep down, a CM may think it, but those thoughts should never come out if onstage or in front of guests. We usually have two or more people at FP Return and this is one position where it happens more. Two people at the touchpoints, one usually is using an iPad to make everything go faster and a third person holding either a sign that says FastPass, a flag, or two items depending on standby. Obviously, I can't say which one we use. I see this a lot at FP Distribution, as well as Merge. There are even some coordinators who curse out the guests, to their faces, onstage. The leaders know, but they think it is funny.
