Just Arrived, Triple Dipping

I'm talking about anyone who is able to double- (or more) dip on FPs because of loopholes in the system. Just because it can be done doesn't mean it should be. Wasn't talking about any one person specifically, just an attitude in general of, well, if I can get away with it, I'll do it.

If you stick a card in the FP machine and it gives you an FP, that isn't a loophole and nobody has gotten away with anything and I'm not going to question the morality of Disney's decision to allow it nor the person who received it.

So you're intentionally letting the parking CM's believe you are an on-site guest?
I think his point is he's just holding up his band (which he's entitled to use since he stayed at a resort) and they are just waving him in. Nobody at the parking entrances are questioning him like they did me when I used my AP.

The first week of December we were staying at BWV with a rental car and got a parking pass (2 actually, one from the guard at the gate when we checked in and one in our welcome packet). The guard definitely checked the dates on the pass at the Poly when we drove over there for breakfast. At BWV we did use our MB to open the gate at the "returning guests" entrance.

Denise

Weird, like I said we definitely didn't get a parking pass at SSR because I remember the CM asking me if we were parking and I said yes. I even questioned her about not getting a parking slip and she said we no longer needed it. Perhaps because of the tight parking situation at BWV they still issue passes so they can check parked vehicles?

Not sure it's anyone's responsibility to determine what someone else "believes" unless that someone else asks.

Next time you pass a cop and he doesn't pull you over, will you go back to him and point out that you were speeding?

Maybe the CM knows there is a possibility the PP isn't staying on site, but sees that he is wearing a MB, knows that he's only getting 3 FP's today and couldn't pick his favorite twice and decided to give him a break on parking?

And you don't need to point out how ridiculous that is for me, unless you "believe" that I meant it.

Just because you have a MB doesn't mean you are automatically entitled to free parking (as evidenced by this thread).

Disney needs to close that loophole. Once you check out of a disney hotel, your tickets should be put on a plastic RFID card, not left on a MB.

Actually, thinking about it, they need to stop everyone (or bring back the dashboard paper), since people could bring back MB's from past visits and just be waved through without paying for parking.

I think you can rest assured that it's a self healing process. If it gets "out of hand", parking revenue will drop, the bean counters will notice, management will be notified, operations will look for the cause, and corrective measures will be implemented.

Agreed.

Absolutely LOVE this!!! You are the (cave)MAN Laketravis!!!! ;)

only current wdw resort guests are entitled to complimentary parking. Not guests who have checked out and are intentionally deceiving CM's to continue to get said parking benefits. It's just more of people getting away with what they can. I'm just surprised this thread has A) carried on strong here without being moved and B) not been locked for discussing ways to get around Disney policies.

Hey, Some people say their child is 2 when they are 3 and up to avoid paying a ticket and think that's totally justifiable. Some people pretend to be staying on property to get free parking. In the end we all have our own moral compass to guide us, right? ;-)

But the PP isn't telling anyone that they are staying on site. They aren't "pretending" that they are staying on site. They are just wearing their MB, which is still required to get into the park, and being waved thru the parking booth.

If they were ASKED and responded that YES, they are staying onsite, then I would agree with you. But that is not the case.

I may be misunderstanding but it sounds pretty clearly like the OP is actually showing his magic band to the parking cm's when he/she gets up to the booth, and is getting waved through. The OP knows darn well they are not currently entitled to free parking. When they get to the cm at the booth they should be paying, not showing a magic band like a resort guest. Again I could be misunderstanding.

Quite an interesting post...the word troll...comes to mind...just stayed this weekend at POR and sure didn't pay that price. Room was great, and service fantastic. I always love the descrptic comments of finding pubes. NOT........

A hairy troll... Like the ones with orange hair and the hole to stick the pencil in?

There are only a very few weekends where POR is $230.

I always wonder how they KNOW what it is.

$200 avg cost
-14 for parking
- 10 for shuttle/cab ( we don't rent a car)
-15 for that days portion of the shuttle to and from the airport.
Now we are down to $160 per night

Everyone's mileage may vary but living in Detroit... I hardly think "getto" applies. I do not think that word means what you think it does.

Foul...

Port Orleans or Caribbean is highway robbery for an average of $196 a night.

You can justify it with the free market excuses and I'm not saying don't pay it...

But it's robbery for what you get. Opinion

I've got six MagicBands. I just logged into MDE and they are all "active", and I haven't stayed on site since Thanksgiving.

So I would also think the CM would know "darn well" that just because somebody has a MagicBand doesn't mean they are currently staying on site.

Yet, they didn't ask and just waived the OP thru.

So even if I WAS speeding, and even if the cop DID pull me over, if he decided to just give me a warning should I insist that he give me a ticket?

Just sayin' :goodvibes

Ok. The op knows he isn't entitled to free parking. He is scamming free parking. I think it's dishonest. Ymmv. That's all I'm saying.

If I ever find myself working the parking gate at WDW and waive someone thru because I see they are wearing a MB and mistakenly assume they are staying at a resort, I sure hope it's you! :)

Some people wear halos at the front door and take them off at the back.

They don't hand out the resort pass anymore. At least we didn't get it at SSR over Thanksgiving.

Also, during the busy Thanksgiving week I noticed they never stopped me at parking to check that my AP matched my drivers license, but the Monday after Thanksgiving week they were checking.

Got the parking pass at pop on the 4th and today at boardwalk. We will see what happens tomorrow at SSR.

No one has ever asked for my ID when using our AP for park parking.

But there are several posts about people reporting that they were told by CMs to still use the legacy FP system in addition to their FP+. I've taken two trips now with MBs and have specifically asked upon check in if we were able to pull paper FPs with the cards and was told yes.

I also saw CMs standing at the kiosks while I pulled said FPs watching me, with my MBs, and didn't say a word to me.

Everyone's experience is different it seems, and unfortunately, Disney CMs are not all on the same page.

Our awesomely sweet and funny and chipper checkin cm at boardwalk today was handing over the KTTWs. I said that I'd forgotten we still get them as I had been at pop the last three nights. He didn't say it outright e cause he could tell I knew what he was saying, and he said they are going away but if I wanted to use them in the parks for now to relive the "glory days" that they worked for that. I liked that guy. :)

Wonder if october's KTTW that I left in my owner's Locker would work too?

Something was said about having tickets put on cards when you check out. Why? The MBs can be used until the battery dies. The admission is on the account not the band. It really is the responsibility of the cm who is weirdly waving people through without scanning anything or looking at other documentation to do their jobs correctly. Lets not change yet another thing just because some CMs are doing things wrong.

Pretty sure I know what it means. Pretty sure if you took exception to it you don't know what sarcasm is. As for the price I paid, if I prove it to you will you reimburse the cost to me? A good old fashioned wager in which you also apologize for the troll comment. Sound good?
