My daughter worked so hard studying for exams and the rsults showed that that I decided to surprise her with a 3 night get away to Disney World.
Calling last minute (about 1 month ago) there was nothing available at any of the resorts but I put a wait list request. A studio at SSR came thru.
Left from Detroit a few minutes late this morning on Southwest Air. They made up the time in flight. We arrived on A side, walked over to the B side and walked right on the Disney Express bus. Two other quick stops at POR and OKW and we were checking in in under an hour from arrive at MCO.
I have never been to SSR before. It is a BIG resort. We are way over in the 7000 buildings (Carousel) which looks to be a longs ways from everything except a bus stop. We are heading to Downtown Disney to go to T REX in about an hour so we will see how the bus works out.
When checking in I did ask if we could have a room closer to DDT so that we could just walk there but they told us there was nothing available. No big deal.
We used a golf cart type shuttle to get to our room. That was probably the longest wait we have had (15 minutes) so all is good.
The room is very nice. Looks like it has been freshly painted and new carpet. There is some water around the fridge and it looks like the power was off for a while so maybe it defrosted a little.
I'll post some photos later on this evening.
