JUST ANNOUNCED: HOLIDAY Food Fest at Epcot!

We were there last December as well and I don't remember anything other than hot apple cider at the American Pavilion... Guess we'll have to pay more attention next month!

we were there last year and did not notice anything different either.

We were in Epcot for one day last December and I noticed/new about these different offerings. Maybe if you didn't know ahead of time, you wouldn't notice once you were there. I think I read about it last year on the Disney food blog.

Those waffles will be the perfect lunch for our family....love thematic food offerings for the Christmas season! :cool1:

From the description on the blog it almost sounds like they're simply going a bit further in the marketing of the foods from each country to go along with the Storytellers from years past? I know several of these foods have been there during the holidays in the past (though I can't recall the turkey dinner waffle, lol, I do remember sampling several of the treats), plus the telling of the different traditions of each country.

And to the PP.....I believe this is very much like the just finished Food & Wine Festival...booths set up to sell the individual treats.

They had this last year... I was really impressed.

I've never been to the W&F Festival, but from what I understand, they have booths set up. That's not the case. While they have some pop-up locations, most snacks are sold at existing stores. For example, you can get the gingerbread ice cream at L'artisan des Glaces. You can get specialty hot chocolate at the Promenade hut.

Some of my favorites included:

- The Gingerbread ice cream at France
It was incredibly thick - the consistency was more like gelato than ice cream. It was very heavy - I'd recommend only getting one scoop if you plan on have other snacks.

- Happy Face Fried Cakes at China
These were different. I was expecting something sweeter. Overall, they were very good, though. They almost reminded me of the almond cookies you can get at your favorite Chinese takeout. It had the same sweetness and the sesame seeds took the place of the almonds in adding crunch. The outside is crunchy and the inside is kind of like pound cake. There's three (I believe) to an order. They're small and nice to munch on. Pair them with the Drunk Duck drink!

- Cronut with hot chocolate
Okay, so the cronut isn't a holiday treat, but we had it for the first time last Christmas vacation. It's unreal. It's sweet, buttery and melts in your mouth. It also led us to the flavored hot chocolate. I LOVE peanut butter. I REALLY LOVE peanut butter with chocolate. The peanut butter flavored hot chocolate is unreal. THey also have marshmallow and other flavors.
