Just in case you guys missed out, both expedia and hotels.com have their rooms at the BAT rate for ALL resorts.....seems like Hotels.com has better availability though. Just wanted to share
Minky

WOW!! Impressive... I guess they just buy a large number of rooms at BAT and then resell to us...
Does anybody know if I can add requests? (i.e. view of the world, 5th floor or higher)

thanks
melinda

It is my understanding that you have to contact the resort directly to make these requests:( Thats the bummer

Has anyone used hotels.com before...........any problems?anything we need to be aware of? I did notice that they charge you $5.00 per reservation but they did say there was availability where I wanted to stay so the $5.00 would be well worth not having to hang on the phone to Disney for hours on end. Any feedback? Thanks

You can book through them, but it will cost you the $5 fee, and any requests have to be done through them, Central Reservations cannot assist you with any requests that you want to add onto a reservation booked through a travel agent or other Non Disney Site.

I am not sure about Hotels.com but try again the week of September 7th. All those rooms put on "courtesy hold" at the special rates that don't receive deposits by then will open up.

Good luck!:wave2:

I read on another thread that those rooms would go back into the "rack" rate supply, not the discount supply.

Now how do they get all those rooms and we can't? I am leary about booking thru them. Anyone try them in the past? I would only need them for the last 3 nights of my stay, I guess I would have to check out and then back in and then change rooms too?

just bumping this

has anyone tried hotels.com? if so how was your experience?

Thanks
Kathy

Hi, Haven't used them for DW but have used them for Disneyland and San Diego and have never had a problem! Good Luck!

Just note that even though Hotels.com shows availability, once you go through the "booking process", it may come back with no rooms available. So you don't really know if the discounted rates are available until you enter all your information including your credit card number.

I was wondering how this worked. How wierd is this? On one of these travel websites, I plugged in my dates for October at PORFQ and it came up $.01 a night!!! Now tell me what a deal that is! I almost fell out of my chair!:teeth: Wonder what would happen if I tried to book it!

does any one know on hotels.com if you are charged as soon as you put in your CC# and info on that first page? I don't want to book a room only to find on the next page that the price has gone up.
Any details on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

On the same thread, other posters, as well as myself had a CM say that the discount rooms go back into the pool as discounts. I think one thing we can all agree on, is that whatever a CM says, take it with a grain of salt!!

chyam, I would think that the phones at WDW would have died down by now, but anyway, even when the phones were crazy the first couple of days, I had no problem getting through on the 877 number. I guess there is a little different policy with that number, as you may get a WDTC CM..

Good luck.

Hi, just wondering if the 877 number is a Disney Cro number or to some other place?

Thanks Lene

I have booked through hotels.com before. I have always had to pay the full amount on my credit card at booking. They are not very helpful or cooperative if you have to change your plans, so make very sure you do not have to cancel or change dates. Also, I stayed at a Country Inn & Suites in Arlington, Texas and I booked through hotels.com, my stay was horrible (would take too long to go into all of that) and when I complained to the hotel, they could not discount my room or waive my payment, because it had already been paid for. They did give us 2 complimentary nights, so I plan to use them for our drive-in day and drive-out day, as we are looking at a 14 hour drive. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK. Also, what is up with the NFL, having the Superbowl in February? I know my DH isn't going anywhere that night.

Yeah,

I saw that the other day and immediately tried to book, but there was no availability.... 10 cents for 10 nights would have been so cool.
