After spending a week at VWL in February 2002, our first DVC trip, we decided we must add on. We are in the process (waiting for contract to arrive) of adding on an additional 150 points. Although with our first contract we have a December use year, our new contract is a February use year -- December was sold out. This should not be a problem though, as we either go to WDW in February or April (school breaks) On our trip, we visited the open house and considered adding on our points at the BCV. Although after a little research, we found that it would be most beneficial for us to purchase where we already own. I can see how this adding on can be addictive!!!:D :D :D

Congratulations on the add on!!

Why do you think it is most advantageous to buy at the same resort? I am thinking of doing an add on at a different resort than the BCV to give us another 11th month window. Any thoughts? :)

Congratulations!:bounce:
We are new, first time owners at BCV and I don't even have my deed in my hand yet and I find myself working with the point charts and thinking of when we might add on. :D I can already see this could get addictive!
I also would be interested in your reasoning for adding on at your same home.

We started with 175 pts at OKW. We added on another 75 when they built the new buildings. Then another 50 through a resale. Last Nov we bought 100 at VWL and just added 100 at BCV.

To get a good stay at VWL or BCV, we will have to bank and borrow so we can book our reservation at the 11 month mark. We tend to go at the popular times because we don't want to take our son out of school for more than a day or two. By banking and borrowing, we'll have 300 points every three years to make a reservation in a one bedroom for 7-9 days.

We've stayed mostly at OKW with one stay at BWV and VB during June.

Remember, you can only book 11 months out with the points that you own at the specific resort. We can book 11 months out with 300 OKW points at OKW, 100 VWL points at VWL or 100 BCV points at BCV - unless we bank and borrow.

(I'm point envious.... 500pts....that's be nice)

I understand exactly what you all mean. Within a one year time period we had: purchaced our initial 150 point contract at HH ... added on 50 (before we'd even made our first ressie)....and then added at 150 point resale at OKW.

Now, I can be thinking about something totally innocent (non DVC), and pose the question to my wife .... "do you know what we need ..." and immediately I get the response ..."NO, WE'RE NOT BUYING MORE POINTS!"

We added on at VWL because we like the VWL and will probably stay there most times when in WDW. We love taking the boat to MK. When we book 11 months out, it will probably be at VWL where all our points will be. We also liked the idea of receiving 150 points for 2002 FEB use year and 150 for 2003 Feb use year, in essence receiving 300 points next year.(we have already taken our winter trip to WDW last month) If we bought at BCV, we wouldn't have received 150 points until later in the year. We go to WDW in either Feb or April. It made sense to us and we think the BCV will be extremely busy for a while, after a day in the Parks we loved to go back to the Villas and relax. It is really quiet and relaxing when you are in the Villa area, especially the quiet pool. It seems like the Lodge is a whole different hotel.
