Just added on at BWV through Disney

The waiting list for BWV add-on points worked for me for a second time!! Last year I was on the list for only about 3 weeks before my 50 add-on pts. at BWV came through. This year it took about 8 months, but my name came up again for 39 add-on pts. Just called my guide and gave him the go-ahead for 25 of them.

I'm now at my maxed out point for DVC points. No more add-ons for me. I know, I know. Famous last words, right???

Now it'll be fun to sit down and think about what I can do with those extra points.

I was curious as to what rate you were charged for the add on?

Also, if BWV is sold out, where do the points come from? I didn't think Disney ever bought back points from re-sellers (unless they were below the threshold, but I didn't think that ever happened).

Hi, AnnaS! Yes, I did ask about the other 14 points. I put the answers to those questions on my original thread. But the answer is that the 14 points stay with Disney and are Disney's problem. I chose to only buy 25, and that was fine.

Garretts 92, the rate for the add-on points is whatever Disney is charging for points at the time. In this case $80. As I understand it, add-on points for a sold-out resort come about if Disney exercises its ROFR option on resales or if a member does not keep up with payments. Not sure if there's another source of points for a sold-out resort or not. You're right that it is pretty unusual for those situations to come up. But occasionally they do come up. This is my second add-on at BWV since it's been sold out, so the waiting list has been very good to me!
