Congratulations! If you added on directly through Disney, the points are usually there within hours of telling your guide to start the paperwork. As far as curing addonitis, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but it seems like with each add-on, you begin to think about the next. Of course, the January MF bill usually cures that.....if you can hold out that long.

Too true on all accounts! My little 36 pointer @ VWL was on DVCMember.com within 2 hours of my guide calling me and finishing the info. for the paperwork. That was on a Monday in early March IIRC... Started buying at BLT in Oct. of 2008, and I've added on 3 times so far since then! Collecting points & home resorts is fun. Too bad it tend to be more expensive than pin trading...

well I called and talked to sales and they had my guide (not really MY guide but the guy who has been talking to me since the webinar) call me back. He said it normally takes a few days to get in the system and he asked me if I needed the points to make a reservation and I said yes.....so he said he would try to rush it up and have them in by tomorrow........gheesh!

Wonder why they took so long? I called my guide last night about a 50 point BLT add-on and the points were in my account by 11am this morning.

Does Disney allow DVC members to add points to any existing contract? I have 160 points at the AKV's and would like to add about 75 more. My use year is December so for simplicity sake I would like to keep the same use year to make it easier to track points. Would MS allow me to purchase additional points at AKV or do I have to go the reseller route?

You can absolutely add directly from Disney - minimum size is 25 points; if you do 50 or more you have the option of Disney financing, and you can choose any size you want. Since AKV is still on sale getting your UY shouldn't be a problem, and at 75 points you can most likely get an incentive (discount) on the purchase.

Incidentally, if you wanted a sold-out resort (BWV, VWL, BCV...) then you might have to go on a waitlist to get the points for your UY, but usually that goes pretty quickly.

BTW, if you want home resort priority at another resort you don't have to add on at AKV. I bought all my contracts from Disney directly, and have 160 @ BLT (my first [master] contract) and then added 50 @ VGC, 75 @ AKV, and 36 @ VWL.
