we ourselves have 2 kids 5 &7-our first trip they were 2 and 4-like the OP we had waited a long time at Epcot for the buswe were the first or second in line when up come 4 different groups of families with scooters-there went all the seats (side note-since so much preference is given to scooters they shoud only be allowed 1 guest with them, not the whole tribe) I was LIVID. These people had not been waiting while we were and left no seats (was one of those buses that all face each other) To make it worse my 2 yo was dead asleap on my shoulder. I had every intention of sitting down in the floor when someone finally gave up a seat.
OK that really sounds like I don't support the OP but my point is first come first serve
Someday maybe Disney will figure out how to not load a whole bus with a scooter. Until then we have to grin and bear it. I grin even more when I realize that they have to wait until all of us unload before they can get off. So on one end they have an advantage. On the other end I suspect it's not nearly so nice. I will keep my ability to walk and load on and off whenever for now.
I am so glad I found this post!!! We have totally stopped using the buses at Disney. They used to be a convienance, but now they are a pain in the backside. The pack you in like sardines! It is utterly miserable. We drive to Disney most of the time so we just take our van to the parks. If we fly, we rent. It is totally worth the $$$ to avoid the aggrevation. It drives me insane when people get on with small children and then let the kids each have their own seat. I put both my kids (DD8 and DS4) in my lap and my DH always stands up and gives his seat to someone that is either elderly, pregnant, disabled, or holding a baby....but people don't appreciate the gesture and actually expect it and get an attitude if they don't get it....The final straw for us was when we stood in line for well over 30 minutes one night at the MK. We were the 2nd family in line behind a couple with a young toddler and an infant, plus 2 strollers....We had been waiting and waiting and when the bus pulled up, a woman on a scooter pulled up to the handicapped loading area with, and this is no joke, 12 people with her. The driver loaded her and then let her entire group on. This process took well over 15 MINUTES because the woman couldn't get the scooter pulled in right. That brought our wait to 45 minutes at this point. After all this, some of the groups behind us that had been waiting just as long as us weren't able to get on the bus...
Do NOT go down the scooter on the buses road...don't go there. That topic gets way too heated and people just get plain nasty, no matter how good their intentions are. Nobody can say for sure, 100% sure, that someone isn't entitled to use a scooter. You just never know what someone else's situation is. Therefore, we just won't 'go there'.

My opinion is officially being kept to myself
