Just a useless rant re: ADP and my FSA card

It's January 28th and I still haven't received my benefits card. I called ADP and they said they ran out of card stock and a new shipment won't be in to them until February 8th. Then, it will take another 7-10 business days to ship. Ugh, I've been waiting for that card to get my sons glasses. I guess I will buy them now and use the card for other things. Luckily I didn't get much on it, and I definitely won't have a problem using it all. :/

Our FSA is administered by ADP too - you can also submit receipts that you've paid for with something other than your card from them. I do that all the time because (1) I want the credit card points/miles and (2) they still end up coming back asking for receipts on many things. About the only thing I actually use their card for is prescriptions (in which case the systems usually communicate all the info they need to ADP, so I don't have to submit receipts as well)

That's good to know, thanks! Do you know how long it takes for them to reimburse you? Thanks!

My last reimbursement just recently took about 2 weeks from the time I submitted the form until I had the cash for it. It's faster if you have direct deposit set up, otherwise they mail you a check which adds a few more days onto the timeline. I can submit all my claim forms and receipts online - that helps speed things up as well, but if for some reason you can't do that, you can fax or mail them in too.

Just ask your HR person for the ADP FSA website that applies to you. We have Flexdirect (flexdirect.adp.com), but I think they may have some other flavors as well.

How do you all like ADP for FSA & Health/Dental insurance? I am talking with several places for our insurances for a very small company (under 50 people)& they are one of them.

My only direct experience with them is for the FSA - they've been the administrator for that at our company for several years, even through a company sale (where the company that bought us also used ADP). They seem fine. Pretty smooth process to submit claims and get reimbursement. I like their website - it seems to give me everything I need as far as what is happening with my accounts. But I do knock them for one thing - I recently emailed them about something because I didn't have time to sit on the phone, and while I got automated responses saying someone would respond in 24-48 hours, I never got a response at all. The issue I emailed them about was resolved, however, so I never followed up further on it to see why I didn't actually get a response...

Thanks for answering!

I emailed them on Monday and didn't get a response. I called them this afternoon and was on hold for 11 minutes and spoke to cs for about 2 minutes.
They are really quick with sending checks (dependent care account). Each time, it took one week from the time I faxed the claim to receiving the check. That was before Christmas and at the end of the year (busy time for them, I'm sure).
My only complaint is the running out of paper issue. :/

Thanks for your help! We use the same website. Unfortunately we don't have direct deposit, I wish we did.

Then you are in good shape. Once you log in there, you can create and submit a claim - just fill out the form online, and attach your receipt. If I don't have an electronic version of it already, I just scan it in first. If you don't have a way to scan, you can print out the form instead and fax it with your receipt attached to the number on the form. (Oh - and one minor thing, receipts are NOT "supporting documentation" - go further down on the form to find the button to attach receipts.)

So no need to use their card at all if you don't want!

Great advice! Thank you so much!!
