Just a silly little TR - Run Away!!

Ok so I'm a little late with the reply about the shave ice, sno cone whatever.. My point?? make it a grown up variety. I like my shave ice with a little grown up flavoring to it Ouzo (greek liquor tastes like black licorice) or if you are feeling particullary adventurous any number of the flavored vodkas out there or even Grand Marnier can be plenty good. nuf said.

Carp!

Seize what?

That last part is me! I'm already about a dozen pages behind. If you haven't already started yet Nebo, take your time!!

You may want to sit down for this, but...

I need to catch up here, then dive into Laura74's Disney Nomads before I can even think about doing another Nebo report. I need to get my lunch break extended to 90 minutes...

ummm... I don't think that's going to be long enough.

BTW - flights are booked and resort and SUV are reserved for March of 13.
I know it's still months away, but the excitement is already growing. We decided to extend our 7 nights to 9 to cram in every moment we could.

Hey! That's great! Which resort?

I was just thinking the same thing, reading this stuff, that I have no idea of the references!

It's like a game show where you have to memorize quotes... "I'll take 'Oh, I know, what do you think?" for $200."

I found I was getting confused responding, so I have an identical window open if I don't know what the eff Ponzi is talking about, and let's face it, that could happen a lot!

It happens to me all the time.

PS. I can't beleive everyone is letting Marita get away with this!!! I WANNA HEAR THE STORY!!!!

Yes! Marita, do tell!

Yeah, you can't make a statement like that and not elaborate... Story! Story! Story!

Not a fan of Ouzo (don't much care for licorice) but I like where you're going here... boy that could get dangerous.

I like that.

So as we’re surfing… and trying to forget the morning festivities… with dorsal fins cutting through the waves… Something breaks the surface of the water about 20 feet away from me!

Okay, okay. I’ll be honest with you. I wasn’t scared. I really wasn’t thinking Jaws or Jaws 2 or even Jaws 3D… one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. I just saw something come up from below and thought, “Hm. What’s that?”

“It” was a sea turtle. And “it” was pretty cool! I saw a sea turtle! I saw a sea turtle! After we’re done, I’m going to tell the kids, “Guess what I saw and you didn’t? Hunh? Can you guess? Hunh?”

Many years ago, when I was 7 months pregnant with my first born, I was playing in the ocean at Jacksonville Beach in water about 3 feet deep. A sting ray swam up along side me... I didn't know a pregnant woman could run that fast, and in water, too!

Ok, now I’ve died and gone to heaven.
Soooo good.
Let’s put it this way. If I had to choose between Matsumoto shave ice and zebra domes…

mmmmmmm…… zeeeeebraaaaaa dooooommmmesssss….

Down here in southern Louisiana, it's Sno-balls everybody is crazy about. I don't see the attraction. And you can't find a Dairy Queen anywhere! Evidently these people don't know what they're missing, or there would be DQ's all over with long lines and Sno-ball stands would be empty.

There are 2 DQ's that are close to the Interstate on our route to Disney World: the one at Diamondhead, MS, we would hit way too early in the morning, so it's only useful on the return trip, but there's one in the Florida panhandle that will be seeing me soon!
An M&M DQ Blizzard is my Zebra Dome!

Great chapter Ponzi. Good for your girls, standing up on their surf boards like that. I doubt that it's as easy as it looks. I've never tried to surf, but I can see myself always flipping the surfboard out from under me.

Ductum of course.

You may want to sit down for this, but...

Yeah, I know. About 30 seconds after I posted I took a peek at Nebo's siggie block. So much mayhem, so little time.

Hey! That's great! Which resort?

Well, we're offsiters actually. We have timeshares at Sheraton Vistana Resort (1wk 2BR) and Silver Lake (1wk 3BR). We tend to only use our Sheraton regularly, and trade our SL for other vacations. Would like to stay onsite someday, but DS has severe food allergies so we need to cook for him, and I can't afford a full 2BR DVC villa. It was our first trip to Disney where we found the wonderful world of timeshares on a rental. Bought one (resale) a few months later and haven't regretted it for a moment!

We will be staying at SVR Friday-Sunday March 8-17, a couple of weeks off of your trip if I recall correctly. SIL and her two boys will be joining us Sat-Sat if I can find a trade for another unit.

How did I miss this?

So excited that you're taking time out of your Nebo/Ponzi trip report reading schedule for me!

And the rest of you could do the same...

See link below.

hhmmm.. let's see... maybe by the time you got to it, you had another manhattan??? ;) well, if you suddenly remeber at 5 AM, don't wake me!!!

Whoa, snarky drinking comments when my back is turned, and since we are being SNARKY,,, I could have sworn I addressed this to Ponzi and Laura, but I won't mention that fact,,, nope, won't catch ME stooping down to your level....

I too, don't like Ouzo, mainly because it's icky. But I can picture that with maybe MANHATTANS poured over it, sitting in a bowl filled with MANHATTANS, with MANHATTAN chaser on the side. Better yet,, freeze the MANHATTANS and then just shave the frozen drink and save time and energy.

Your not going to like this, but we have a Dairy Queen 4 blocks away from our house!

Yes, his name is Tom, and he came out of the closet 3 years ago, he's the one that delivers the milk and cheese to all the grocery stores in the area.
ok,,, just one,,,:lmao:

No, really, we are less than a mile from DQ,,, and no,,, I haven't been there in probably 5 years!

am I in trouble yet?

Once, a few year ago, I visited my mom over in Germany. Got up in the morning, grabbed a bottle of water she always had from the fridge and poured my self a glass and took a big swig. Let's say that was a very unpleasant surprise

Icky??

Lol Marita, I can just imagine how shocked you were but you have still not told us about the other story!!

I am still in confused mode and can't remember if I posted about the surfing or not, so I won't

you know two years ago when my daughter turned 21 I threw her a "kiddie" birthday party and we made "sno-cones" with the Pucker flavored alcohol (because they are colored as well). They have the green apple, watermelon, blue raspberry and one other one (pink but I can't remember the flavor). Anyway the guests could mix their own flavors together and have multi-colored grown up sno-cones. Was very fun, especially for us grown ups WHO don't drink too often and got to see the kids (I say this because all of them were at least 20 years younger than me but NO ONE was underage!) the next morning BUAHAHAHA

OMG I just spit my lunch out over this one.... Good thing there is just one... so much dairy so little time LOL!!:rotfl:

No doubt, Check, Gotcha,, I understand,,, uh huh,,,we are all saying,,, what a guy,,, and he did this just for his girls,,,,, so they'd be comfortable,,no male instructors to have to deal with,,,just drop dead gorgeous, young, nubile, atletic, females in bathing suits,,,,
Man, when you make a sacrifice,,,, you go all out!
I will be 100% honest here. My first choice really was the firefighters. They had some of the best reviews and I figured with their training they'd be the safest too. But my DDs really aren't as comfortable with guys as they are with girl instructors.

But I didn't complain.

I sure hope Elle is a daddy's girl, or else this comment may land you in some trouble with Ruby. You did remember that Elle is reading this TR right?

"Mom. Do you know what dad just posted? He was checking out the surfer girl."

Just a quick post to let you know I haven't fallen off the edge of the world

This is the busiest time of the year for us. Dance Recital time. The dance school that the DDs go to has gotten quite big over the past decade. So now Elle is dancing competitively and she dances a lot. She has to perform on all three nights. Four performances last night, two tonight and two tomorrow night. Kay does hip hop and she's on tomorrow night as well... which means I'm at recital all three nights too.

C'est la vie.

Back with shoutouts and more when I get the chance.

We're in that season, too, but I only have to go on Saturday (2 performances - all day). It's only the reheasals yesterday and today, and Grandma's presence is not required.
I'm wondering if the little one will leave the stage voluntarily after her numbers or if they'll have to chase her as they did once last year. She got a taste of performing and really really liked it.

Good luck, Kay and Elle!

No, no, non! ('scuse my French). It is carpe ductum. Seize the Duct Tape! Best friend of many an armchair handyman. It's a saying often heard around our house after a crunch, rip, or tinkle noise.

The flavored ice just brought me back to Epcot. That lovely Grand Marnier ice at the stand near the French Pavillion. And I knew just enough French to order it.

Break a leg Elle and Kay!

We have our first ever recital this weekend. Dress rehearsal with full hair and makeup (on a 5 year old) on Friday, and The Big Show on Saturday (to be attended by 14 family members). It's going to be a long weekend.

Enjoy the recitals. My dd does hip hop too and has her two recitals the end of June. I don't know about you guys but we pay $20 bucks a head each night per person, getting a little out of control! Especially with size of my clan... I can see a Broadway show for less!:confused3. Of course dd wouldn't be in it. :rotfl:

You might want to figure out how to turn off the flash on your camera. I didn't realize until the night of the program last year that flash photography was not allowed. I had never actually read the directions so I couldn't turn it off on mine.
