Just a silly little TR - Run Away!!

Yes I want you to sing and Lady H, too, but I really want to hear you do the saxophone part.

Ok. Hope you don't mind it will be about 10-15 years from now that I post it though. I'll have to take lessons first as I don't play any instruments.

Want to borrow my accordian?

Great song Tman

No worries, I slave at Disney World, so I'll be around down here unless I retire or get eaten by a shark before you get down here.

Hope you can wait a while! But next time we/I am down...

Ponzi, no 37 days is not the norm (or even the cliff).

Sometimes I want to go,
Where nobody knows my name.

It's probably some pretty big, complicated case as the jury selection was going to be in 3 stages over the course of 2 weeks. I'm sort of sorry that I am not able to commit to that length of trial but I have obligations that would make that very problematic. they told us the standard trial is 2-3 days. Oh well, at least I did my duty and I am off the hook for a while now.

Interesting. Wonder what it was about.

Before we move on from the shark adventure, this shark adventure inspired my first song of this TR. When I first saw the pictures and read the chapter, first song that came to my mind was "Maneater" by Hall & Oates. So here is my spin on this song.

Maneater (T_Man Style)

They went on a little ride
To see the mean and hungry type
Doing something new, they’ve never done before
Hoping and praying
That they’ll be ok after taking a two-hour shark tour

So many have paid to see
What they were thinking is scaring me
Kay is wild, Elle is tame might not get in the water
Hope it don’t matter
That once you’re in the cage, you ain’t gonna get too far

(Chorus)
(Uh-oh, here they come) Watch out Ponzi they’ll chew you up
(Uh-oh, here they come) They are maneaters
(Uh-oh, here they come) Watch out Ponzi they’ll chew you up
(Uh-oh, here they come) They are maneaters

I wouldn’t if I were you
I’ve seen what they can do
They’re deadly man, they could really rip your leg apart
Mind over matter
The beauty is there but their feast isn’t too far apart.

(Chorus)

------ saxophone ------

Ooh,
(Uh-oh, here they come) (Here they come) Watch out Ponzi they’ll chew you up
(Whoa-oh, here they come) (Watch out) They’re maneaters
(Uh-oh, here they come) (They’re maneaters) Ooh, they’ll chew you up
(Uh-oh, here they come) Here they come, they are maneaters
(Uh-oh, here they come) (Watch out) If you come out they’ll bite, ooh
(Uh-oh, here they come) Here they come, they’re maneaters
(Uh-oh, here they come) (They’re maneaters) That Kay is wild, woo
(Uh-oh, here they come.) Here they come. Watch out Kay, watch out Elle
(Uh-oh, here they come.) Oh, watch out, watch out, watch out, watch out
(Uh-oh, here they come.) Yeah, yeah, they’re maneaters

:rotfl: That's excellent T-Man!! I sang the whole thing (in my head). That was great! :worship:

It has come to my attention that some of you (and you know who you are... like a certain haggis eating person) are afraid to post on the TR since they do not have an accompanying recipe.

If you don't have a recipe, please post.

If you do have a recipe, please post.

If you just want to say "Hi", please post.

If you like the TR, please post and tell me how much you love me.

If you don't like the TR, pbbbt! You haven't gotten this far anyway.

Okay, now that that's out of the way, perhaps I should work on another chapter?

No recipes but I do love your TR. I'm usually a lurker as Nebo will tell you.

nebo's mom's yummy macaroni salad:

boil up a bunch of elbow macaroni.(1 lb.?)
hard boil a dozn eggs.(you won't use them all, but they'r always good to have around)
cook up a lb. of bacon (see above( SAVE grease!!!)
cut up a couple onions, a bunch of stalks of celery.

now...

but the macaroni in a big bowl.. pour in a little bacon grease.mix. add onions, celery, chopped up egg, crumbled bacon.(if you have any left after cooking bacon. maybe you should cook 2 lbs. "a slice to crumble, a slice for smidgy to eat, a slice to crumble, a slice to carry over to Nebo, etc)

oh yeah! when you chop up the eggs, make sure you reserve some pretty looking "cross sections" (ie. slices) to garnish the top of the salad)

now add some more bacon grease. some celery salt, pepper, a little onion salt.

mix in a few tablespoons of sour cream and a whole bunch of Mayo (NOT yucky Miracle Whip:scared1:).

carefully place pretty egg slices on top (careful not to eat the prettier ones). sprinkly paprika on top, Voila!!!!
******************

the cool thing about this poplular picnic salad is, you don't have to eat breakfast first!!! you have the bacon and eggs right in it!!!

(we call it "heart attack in a bowl", and boy, is it ever good!!!)

sorry I told you to save some nice slices of the hard boiled ages AFTER I told you to cut them up but, hey, that's the way my MIL told me the recipie, and the way I handed it down to my DILs!
*****************

my friend always cut the end off her rump roast before cooking it.. I asked her why. "that's how my mom always did it, I'll ask her".

she asked her mom, who said that's how grandma did it.. she asked grandma, who told her, "well, my pan was too short!";)

Pkondz, let's just leave the code brown searches for Nebo. I seem to recollect that he has encountered this a time or two in his TRs from back in the day.

But yes, thanks for that thought, now not only will I be thinking of alligators and brain eating amoeba, but I will also be thinking of poop in the Seven Seas Lagoon as I am ferried across to the MK. I can't begin to fathom how far off the wagon I would need to fall to let that happen!

What I need to do is try to keep a running count of how many times something happens on the trip where I think...."I need to tell Pkondz or Nebo about this." I can't walk through the POTC queue without imagining poor Nebo trying to make it through that dark gauntlet of terror.

MK has evening EMH until 3 am on Sunday! Woo-hoo, once 2 am hits you pretty much can have the run of the park usually, but it's not until the final hour that the lines die down. Hopefully, I can make it. I did last year and it was awesome! I love MK at night!! ;)

Hey Marita!

Are you going to be in town next week or will you be on your trip? I'm headed your way!! ;)

Good work T-man! That was fun. Maybe Nebo and Smidgy should karaoke it and post the video!

No recipes but I do love your TR. I'm usually a lurker as Nebo will tell you.

Hi! And welcome! I'm pretty sure I remember you posted a couple of times on Nebo's last TR. Mary, Mary quite contrary. Didn't have a recipe, but I'm glad she's hear...y.

Thanks for the recipe Smidgy. I luvs me some mac salad. And thanks for helping to keep the world's cholestorol from getting too low.

sorry I told you to save some nice slices of the hard boiled ages AFTER I told you to cut them up but, hey, that's the way my MIL told me the recipie, and the way I handed it down to my DILs!

Oh no! :scared: It's ruined! Ruined!!! Oh, wait. I haven't made it yet... nevermind.

my friend always cut the end off her rump roast before cooking it.. I asked her why. "that's how my mom always did it, I'll ask her".

she asked her mom, who said that's how grandma did it.. she asked grandma, who told her, "well, my pan was too short!";)

:lmao: That's one of my pet peeves, though.
"Why are we doing it this way? There's a better way."
"Because that's the way we've always done it."
grrrrrrr...

Pkondz, let's just leave the code brown searches for Nebo. I seem to recollect that he has encountered this a time or two in his TRs from back in the day.

Don't think of it as a job. Think of it as an adventure!

But yes, thanks for that thought, now not only will I be thinking of alligators and brain eating amoeba, but I will also be thinking of poop in the Seven Seas Lagoon as I am ferried across to the MK.

No, no. No thanks required. Just trying to do my bit to enhance your vacation experience.

I can't begin to fathom how far off the wagon I would need to fall to let that happen!

It's a boat. Not a wagon. Sheesh. :sad2:

What I need to do is try to keep a running count of how many times something happens on the trip where I think...."I need to tell Pkondz or Nebo about this." I can't walk through the POTC queue without imagining poor Nebo trying to make it through that dark gauntlet of terror.

It's amazing how often you'll think that... and then forget everything anyway.

3am? Yeah, you'll definitely forget everything. Have fun!

As a pastry chef I have really been remiss, so here is my favorite brownie recipe.
As I live in the Southwest and work at a Native American Museum, I sometimes sub 2 tablespoons of mesquite flour for regular flour. It really gives a great depth and undertone of flavor.

6 ½ ounces bittersweet chocolate (184g)
4 ounces unsalted butter (1stick)
1 cup sugar
2 cold eggs
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup flour
2/3 cup walnut or pecan pieces (optional)

8 inch square pan (lined with foil or parchment paper with 1” overhang)

Position rack on lower third of oven and preheat to 350°F

Combine chocolate, butter and sugar in a heatproof bowl and melt atop a skillet with barely simmering water. Stir with a wooden spoon. When chocolate and butter is all melted, and the mixture is hot enough that when you dip your finger into it you would want to pull it out fairly quickly. Remove bowl from skillet, stir in the vanilla and salt. Add the egg one at a time making sure the first egg is fully incorporated. Stir in the flour and beat until smooth and glossy and batter is pulling away from the pan. Mix in the nuts if using then pours the mixture into the prepared 8-inch square pan.

Bake for about 20 minutes. The brownie is ready when it is starting to pull away from the sides, the top is dry and when you stick a toothpick in the center, it is still slightly gooey. Immediately place in freezer till cool. (this is the trick)
These brownies are very fudgy and rich. They should be kept in the fridge and are great cold or warm. Enjoy

Smidgy, I find that as I get erhm older, my bladder is fooled for less and less time and I have at least one night a week where I fall asleep fine but wake up an hour after and that is it for the night! Wish I could lame it on impending trips to WDW. Hope your throat got better, but I'm sure we will find out soon.

Hi Pkondz it’s the haggis eater [I do love eating haggis honestly the best ways are to grill it, lather it in vinegar, then cover it with Heinz tomato sauce to give it a texture that is palatable to swallow. The other way to consume it is on a Saturday night after throwing out time, straight from the local chippy wrapped in newspaper covered in salt & vinegar, special chip shop sauce which you can only get from them, the haggis is done in batter like the fish you get at the rose & crown] I like reading your trip report it has been brilliant so far and look forward to the rest of it. Your sense of humour is the kind that I can relate to. I will try to get the recipe for shortbread which is a type of cookie we eat over here

I zipped over to google to see what I could find out about haggis. On wikipedia, they had this to say:

Haggis is a kind of savoury pudding containing sheep's pluck (heart, liver and lungs — see offal); minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally encased in the animal's stomach and simmered for approximately three hours. Most modern commercial haggis is prepared in a sausage casing rather than an actual stomach.
As the 2001 English edition of the Larousse Gastronomique puts it, "Although its description is not immediately appealing, haggis has an excellent nutty texture and delicious savoury flavour".[1]
The haggis is a traditional Scottish dish, considered the national dish of Scotland as a result of Robert Burns' poem Address to a Haggis of 1787. Haggis is traditionally served with "neeps and tatties" (Scots: rutabaga and potato), boiled and mashed separately and a dram (a glass of Scotch whisky), especially as the main course of a Burns supper. However it is also often eaten with other accompaniments.

So, it doesn't sound too bad. They had a pic, but that made it look nasty.:crazy2: The way you describe it makes it sound tastier. Is it better with whiskey?

Marie What Wikipedia says about haggis is right it is mostly eaten at breakfast or tea time as part of a fry up. There is a lot of spice in it so it is quite peppery. Most of the time now it comes sliced about 3 inches round by about half inch thick it is good on a buttered roll It can be good with whisky but after two or three drams the haggis starts to spoil the taste. The only time you really see it in the round version is in a reel old traditional butchers shop or on the run up to burns night which is still going strong
