Just a Silly Little PTR! Updated 4/11/13

Tiny Little TR in a PTR Arrival Day!!!

So I really wanted to do a trip report last year but I just didn't get around to it. It also would have helped if I would have brought a trip journal with me which I definitely plan on doing this year. But I thought it would be fun to include some pics of our 2012 trip. Keep in mind it was just April and I last year so there will not be many pics with me in them. Our dates were April 28th - May 4th

On the plane. This is April's I'm Going To Disney!!!! face.

My first food porn pick of the trip. I had read a lot about how good the chicken fettucine alfredo was before taking this trip however it was just alright for me.

So, I just realized that 4/29 is April's birthday...how old will she be??

We are also celebrating our oldest DD's birthday on our April trip....hers is 4/30 and she'll be 9!!! :cool1:

Oh my gosh this is a crazy coincidence. Mine will be turning 9 as well! Looks like were both preggers at the same time!

Hi Jessica from a fellow Mainer!! I came to your ptr by way of the Port Orleans Riverside thread. Hope you don't mind. I was a single mom for 6 years before I married a wonderful man in 2010. I took my child to Disney when she was 9 just her and I and it was wonderful!! I look forward to reading along with you and your plans! :cool1:

:welcome::welcome::welcome: My fellow Mainer! Of course I don't mind! I'm so excited you are here! Crazy coincidence. Oh you are so giving me hope. Congratulations on meeting Mr. Right! I have been single for 6 years now and sometimes I am totally fine with it but I do get those times where I just think it would be so nice to have a soul mate/companion to share these things with. As you know the dating scene here in Maine is pretty much nonexistent so it can be hard to meet a nice guy and also I have my daughter to consider too!

Mini TR in a PTR Day 2 Animal Kingdom Day Pictures!

This was April's first Disney Park experience so I was really looking forward to seeing her face and she was just blown away! Here is a pic of her after entering the park.

April loves flamingos so we spent time admiring them at their little area towards the beginning of the park.

Following some DIS'ers advice we then headed straight for Kilimanjaro Safari.

Time for a relaxing mud bath. Just another day at the spa!

This nice man noticed April's birthday button and came over and sang her Happy Birthday. She really loved him.

After the safari we hit a couple of the trails.

I love these flags in Asia!

We had an ADR at Rainforest Cafe. I got the Chicken Cobb Salad and it was excellent! April had the hot dog and chips and for dessert we split some chocolate cake.

We did not actually stay at AK all day. I think April was a little overwhelmed so we left around 2pm and spent the rest of the day at the resort pool playing pool games and relaxing. :beach:

Yay!!!! I'm welcomed here! Whoo Hoo!!! :cool1:

:offtopic: You've got to have hope with the dating scene here in Maine. If you go read my ptr you'll read how Peter and I met, but it was through the internet. I was in one of those "I hate all men" modes and was on the internet one night. I never pay for those dating sites and most of the replies I had ever received were the same ole, same ole. Peter's response was different. He really read my profile and commented on a lot of the things I had said. I also have a hard time trusting and he just seemed really genuine. It's also hard for a larger person like me to find love.....I also had Victoria to think about as I never introduced her to anyone unless I was going to be in a serious relationship. It was not easy because like you I shielded her and her feelings. I never wanted her to get attached to someone if they weren't going to stay in our lives.

There, how was that for my little counselling session? I don't even charge a fee for my services!! :rotfl2: Anyways, looking forward to more of your mini-trip report!

Are we the same person??? LOL You just said exactly what I feel. Honest to goodness! I am going to check out your PTR right now ;) Do you realize that we both live in Augusta?
I'm going to be updating my PTR very soon! Maybe even this afternoon if I have some time :)
Thanks for the free counseling sesh! :grouphug: It's good to read advice from someone who has had similar experiences!

You commented on one of my reports, so I thought that I would come and check out yours! Looks like it is going to be a fun trip :goodvibes

Little TR in a PTR Epcot Day! Part 1.

This was my first time checking out the Flower and Garden Festival and I was just blown away! I cannot wait to bring my mother in a few months. April helps my mother with her flower gardens so she was really looking forward to this as well!

The entrance was so beautiful!

We had reservations for Akersus Storybook Dining so we made our way out of the fairy garden and headed toward Norway.

Up next: Lunch with the Princesses!

Oh, I've always wanted to see the Flower & Garden Festival but I just hate the crowds during this time of year. Maybe someday. Very cute report but I'm anxious to read about the Princess lunch!!!!

Great F&GF pictures! Besides Christmas, the spring is my favorite time to go because I just love the F&GF. The fairies are my favorite. I can't wait to see what the festival is like this year!

Actually if you go the last week in April that runs into the first week in May the crowds are only at a 4 out of 10 so it's nice and moderate. You should try it some year! Plus they run the room and ticket discount on the moderate hotels saving 30%!

Thank you! Same here. I am excited to see the new topiary's and gardens they have set up ;) I have talked about going at Christmas but am going to wait until April is in her teens and I don't have to worry about shipping tons of Santa presents back to Maine ;)

Epcot Day Part 2: Lunch with the Princesses!

So when I last left off we were heading toward Norway to eat lunch with the Princesses at Akershus Storybook Dining. Somewhere along the way we popped into the Duffy Bear store. April had been looking for an Ear Hat or Headband to buy with her birthday money. She tried on this adorable Duffy hat and almost got it but I convinced her to wait and just make sure she didn't find another pair she liked better. If she didn't we would come back and get it.

We checked in at Akershus and pretty soon our names were announced (quite royally I might add) and we went inside. Once we were inside April got her picture taken with Belle! She was so really looking forward to this. Later on in the meal they delivered a booklet that had an 8x10 and 4 4x6 pictures that looked alot like this one (only better).

Here is our hostess!

536658_4004699840591_697603360_n.jpg

Once you are seated you are directed to a cold buffet with rolls, salad fixings, cheeses, and some norwegian items like smoked salmon etc.. The potato salad was awesome as was the rest of the stuff I took. April liked hers as well!

545769_4004700120598_158266333_n.jpg

Aurora came out and asked the children to join her in a Princess Parade around the restaraunt. It was really precious! Then our food came out. I really can't remember what my dish was called but it eas some sort of an open faced chicken sandwich and it was just ok. April got a hot dog.

While we were eating the Princesses started coming around! The interactions were fantastic and they really spent a good amount of time at each table.

April was then given a birthday card signed by all of the Princesses and a yummy cupcake. She really loved the gummy bears :) Nice touch Disney!

Then as if we didn't already have enough to eat this lovely trio of desserts was served. These were all very good but we loved the chocolate one the best. Definitely something there for everyone though as far as different tastes are concerned!

Up Next: Finishing up our day at Epcot!

We did breakfast at Akershus. We enjoyed the interaction of the Princesses, but Victoria REALLY liked the view of the Norweigen male servers. It was a riot to watch her be all shy like and of course me saying out loud, "so you think he's cute, Victoria?" She almost hid under the table. I thought it was funny! :lmao:

Hmmmmm.....I'll have to think about going in early May sometimes. Is it warm enough to go without a sweatshirt? I know when we've gone in December it was too cold to swim so how is May for swimming? Hey, maybe you can pick up 2 or 3 of those Mickey mini garden plants that they sell at the little stand by Soaring that come from Living with the Land. I would definitely pay you for them. I just love those little things! And they are perfect for my office as here at the State we aren't allowed to have real plants, at least in my office building. But, those are sealed!! That would be cool! Do you usually Pick A Pearl? Love that, too!!!! I'll have to do more research on that season in May. I like Value season and Free Dining!! :hyper:

I popped over from the April thread.
I like that you're doing a TR within a PTR. It's fun to see last year's pictures intermingled. I might have to steal the idea for my PTR (if I ever start one). Although, I'll have around 2 1/2 years between trips, so DS looks VERY different.
