Just a Rumor So Don't Shoot the Messenger~ A MSEP 2012 Return?

I would be so happy if the Electric Parade would return to Disneyland. I really want my children to experience it while they're young, just as I enjoyed it as a child. Simply magical.

However, I've already had my heart broken over this rumor before when Al Lutz reported talks of it returning for the holidays back in 2010 and it never did. Of course, I like to think it was delayed because of all the construction at DCA.

Sorry to ruin all the fun, but the WDW website shows it's scheduled through September (by the way, I can't believe the WDW entertainment schedule is posted that far out!). I don't see how it's possible for them to get it over to CA and up and running in 3 months, but if anyone could do it, Disney could.

Fingers crossed. There's always the holidays.

I've only seen it at WDW. I'm a Spectro gal, so I would love for it to return to WDW.

Thats what I was trying to saying a few posts ago. When we went one year when MSEP was first coming back to WDW their calendar was still showing Spectromagic. We were like what? They never updated it correctly until right before summer. But that was that year.

The WDWNewsToday link has a lot of errors- wrong (past) date for Dumbo, wrong name for the rethemed roller coaster, no update on SWSA closing. I wouldn't call it current or reliable.

FWIW, last I checked the folks on the WDW board had info about Spectro coming back there like in May or June. Many of them - but not all - were celebrating the departure of MSEP and return of Spectro.

I saw MSEP at MK last month and also in 2011 and, while I do like it, I just do not have the emotional connection to it that many of you do. I really prefer Spectomagic myself.

I agree. I love Sprectromagic the best but I would love to see any nighttime parade going down the streets of Disneyland. That would be the icing on my cake this summer. I can't even imagine it. The closest I got was the Parade of Dreams at dusk.

I don't disagree. Schedules change and Disney likes to keep things under wraps until they want to to market them. Often times calendars aren't perfect until a week or two out. So if something is happening one way or the other the calendar is not great help.

I would love to see any nighttime parade going down the streets of Disneyland.

That what I'm looking for too. Even if it is just a late run of Soundsational that would be nice. If either or the light parades come to DLR I'd be happy regardless of which park its in.

I would love the EP to return, but I really want it to go to DL and not DCA!! I know it's more likely it will go back to DLR, I just wanted to ring in with my thoughts. I think it would be great to have a "regular" parade in DL during the day and at night have the EP run....that would be so amazing!

MSEP returning to it's rightful place on DL's Main Street! I'm so hoping for this. It was the parade of my childhood and made me tear up each time I was able to catch it for the years it was in DCA (and I was always disappointed when it was dark during a couple of our visits).

I've seen Spectromagic and it just doesn't do it for me. I guess it's all in which parade you experienced first or which is connected to your childhood. Those clown characters in Spectromagic simply give me the creeps. I understand the WDW regulars are clamoring for their beloved Spectromagic parade to return. Here's hoping both coasts can have a nighttime parade we enjoy!

Yes. And why is that odd? If they are not running it at DLR and WDW wants to run it, why would they not use DLR's floats?

I agree that it seems hard to believe, but that's the way it is. I'm sure it would be very cost prohibitive to recreate all of those floats, and they would inevitably leave out one or two of the less popular floats, which would greatly upset at least some fans. As I said before, we saw the electrical parade at WDW in February, I was getting a tad concerned when most of the parade had passed and my favorite had yet to arrive. I was straining my neck, hoping it would be the next one up, then I saw it, Elliot cruising down Main St with Pete clinging to his neck. I was so relieved, and it brought back awesome memories from when I was 3 sitting on my Dad's shoulders in the crowd on Main St in California. I would definitely be getting 3 annual passes if it came back home where it belongs.

It's odd to me that since the two parks are on opposite sides of the country, and after all, they're DISNEY and have the money, why wouldn't they have two sets, so they have the option of running it at both resorts at the same time!
