I have mentioned to my bf that I was interested in training for a marathon. Now, I am not very athletic anymore but I am not out of shape either. The other day I had two donuts for breakfast/lunch and today I bought some frozen yogurt. Both incidents have elicited comments such as "Where did those two donuts go?" While patting my tummy to "They allow Hagendz(sp) while training for a marathon?"....I guess I am sensitve to these topics because I feel bad about my phyiscal shape. My question is that, even though he says he was kidding and then mopes an apology in the tone of voice that indicates I am being too much, is this something you would be hurt over?

Nah, but I'm not easily offended. I would have said something like, "hey, it takes a lot of calories and energy to sustain this runner's physique."

or

"hey babe, do you want to help me burn off a few of these calories." ;)

My DH knows better than to go there. Like a lot of women I beat myself up enough at times about what I eat, how I look etc. without him adding his 2 cents. Whenever I ask him how I look his response is always "you look as good if not better than the day I met you". To answer your question though, if he ever did make a comment like your bf I would be upset.
