Just a Dream Away- The Imagineering Thread*Are you curious, imaginative, dedicated?

Oh, there's lots of other choices. Besides, running an attraction isn't that hard, so you wouldn't break it! They provide you with very good, sturdy training, anyways.

Oh, that's so awesome! I can't wait! I'm really excited to see what they'll do. Even though I'll be kind of sad to lose the current Fantasyland, we need to remember to embrace change. :goodvibes

I will do whatever they tell me to do to the best of my ability! And hopefully not get banned from the parks in the process. XD

yeah i might be in college program :) but im thinking of going to college in florida.....ohh jebzuz.....so many choices

Haha, nooo, you wouldn't. You'd be surrounded by a bunch of equally clueless people anyway. ;)

I think it looks like a lot of fun. You get to work and LIVE at Disney! I also think it's a great way to make friends and build work experience. It's also GREAT to have on your resume.

But remember WDI is not part of the Parks Division, two seperate divisions in Disney. That doesn't mean it's any easier to get a job right now, it just means that WDW doesn't do the hiring for WDI.

I'm planning to go to college in SoCal. The schools there have much better connections with WDI than your average school across the US.

If all else fails I can always blame the guy next to me. XD

It does. I read about it a few month ago. I'm thinking of going to school at USF so it'd make some of the stuff like moving and travailing easier for me.

If I had to suggest just one book for a perspective Imagineer to get, it would be Imagineering: A Behind the Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real.

It encompasses the most information about all the depts and histories.

No, I meant if you're planning on getting an onstage (lower level) job at Disney, that...they're really not hiring right now.

I'd actually love to transfer to UCF, but I'm not sure I can justify the out-of-state tuition!

Luckily, that was one of the only books my library had.

And you're absolutely right :thumbsup2 Times are tough.. the parks marked a 3% increase in attendance, but a 25% LOSS in profit. I was just clarifying.

so alice (srry i forgot ur name) wat imagineer do you want to be?

Walt. Disney. World. Nuff' Said;)

Probably a show set designer, engineering, or lighting designer.

I'd love to major in Theatre Design and Engineering but I've still got time to figure things out. :goodvibes

My names Megan, btw. :hippie:

i still have to figure out wat i have to do in college to be a show writing Imagineer

Yeah. To get their attendance up they've had to do promotions like free dining when they usually wouldn't (oct-dec) so they're losing money there. I think it may even out though. I hope they get their profits up soon, but I'm not too worried about it.

Haha, yeah. Tell my parent's bank account that.

I'd probably be on the slight more technical side though. Lighting Design might be more my speed.

Which means I should probably be on Lighting Crew for my next play.. but I love stage/running crew too much.

Sorry for the OT ramblings xD

They rasied ticket prices a couple weeks ago. That should help a bit.

Hmm....ok, then how about it's to see me?! XD
