Ok so we are flying out of phl on Thursday morning...

I have a Drivers License and my dh doesn't he has a State Id...

Should I bring our marrige license or birth cetificates?

Also can I pack a travel sewing kit in my checked luggage?

Is there any way he can get to the state motor vehicle office tomorrow? I think that government issued photo ID's are required for all adults flying. I don't know that a birth certificate or marriage license will be enough (of course what is funny is that to GET the photo id, those work as proof of identity - who is to say the government issued photo is actually that person since a photo id isn't required to get a photo id).

Does it have a photo on it?

This has been a problem with NJ.

If it does NOT have a photo bring anything you can find to prove who he is and arrive EARLY! Even before the "no liquid" ban this was an adventure.

Also, your sewing kit in the checked baggage is fine.

Too bad we fly in that evening,we could have been on that flight  so anyone leaving out of philly on SW that evening :wave2:

Suzyq-

My mom does not drive, she has the NY state non-driver ID card and that was fine in May. :thumbsup2

I never had a problem with a state issued photo ID. Actually, I had to get one when I didn't have my license (I don't know if they still do but they used to hold your liscense as a "bond" when you got a speeding ticket and you got it back when you went to court to pay it :o - the ticket was your temporary license but it didn't have a photo). I was flying out 2 days after getting pulled over for speeding and had to rush to the the DMV to get a state ID so I could board my flight the next day.
