Jury Duty Question

Can I get away with wearing khakis (sp?) and a button-down shirt? I don't think I even own a blazer/jacket.

And I thought they only called registered voters to jury duty. What ever happened to that? Maybe I registered and forgot. Dag-nabbit!

There's a dress code for jury duty? I had it once, 13 yrs ago. I wore jeans and a clean shirt.

They get your info from EVERYTHING, not just from being a registered voter. I know a lady that had her YOUNG dd being called for jury duty 3 times. The last time, the baby was 2 1/2. She has no idea how they got her dd's name.

I think you will be fine. I have seen a lot worse. A lot of people dress in jeans and t-shirts. I guess they hope they will not get picked.

Well I'm glad to hear it... I think I'm safe if you got away with jeans. Then again, you ARE in Tennessee! (so I guess that means shorts, sandals, and a bikini top should do here in FL)

I was called for jury duty in August and there WAS a dress code, Shannon. I think that it said something about no jeans. It said that if you came dress inappropriately, that they could send you home and you would have to get new date to come back? Something like that.

Doc - I think that what you have picked out is fine.

And I have heard that they are choosing jurors from a NUMBER of things - not just the voter rolls.

AS long as you are decent they don't care. Jurors are now taken from those with drivers licenses and Florida ids. Might as well register to vote. They don't use that any longer.

I'm a Georgia Peach. I guess I should also state I had on undies and tennis shoes, too (I think I had on tennis shoes ).
