This was the coolest store! It has the biggest international foods section I have ever seen. :thumbsup2 I found cans of Mezzo Mix. :woohoo: I have never seen this any place outside of club cool in Epcot and it is one of my favorites. The bad part was it was almost $2.00 a can, so it wasn't exactly cheap.

Also, I thought of Kevin when I saw this!

There was butter from France, Ireland, the USA and who knows what other country. :lmao:

Which one did you go to, the one in Fairfield (the original one) or the one in Eastgate (the new one).

Yes, it is a great store. Wish it was closer. Even though we're still in the Greater Cincinnati area, it's still nearly an hour to the Fairfield store. Never checked out the Eastgate store, however, that's still about 45 minutes.

Did the one in Eastgate open already? I've been waiting for the news - it is much closer for me than Fairfield.

It was the store in Fairfield. We took a quick trip to see my DH's cousin this past weekend and she had been telling me about this store. It was more than I could imagine. I think Eastgate may be closer to her apartment, so I'll have to ask her about that one when we go up again.

I love Jungle Jim's!!! We went to the original one and it was amazing. It's a destination all in itself. Got some of the best beef jerky there and the kid's just about bought out the British candy section. They still talk about the Aero bars. Unfortunately I'm in Cleveland, so 5 hours is a little far to drive, but when we talk about going back to Cincy everyone says "We're going to Jungle Jim's right?!"

I LOVE that place!

My daughter and I travel down from Indianapolis once a month to go shopping for a couple hours. Usually walk out with more than I actually need.

following them on twitter, and I havent seen anything yet about it being open. I think they are shooting for the end of the summer.

I am from Fairfield and I remember when it was just a tent by the side of the road!!!

:thanks:

I love this place! I agree that it is expensive, but if you want something hard to find, chances are they have it :thumbsup2

I live in Fairfield now! I go to that store every so often (mostly to get sushi) but I still get lost in it! I don't think the one in Eastgate is open yet, but I think it will be soon. I have a cousin who works in the Cheese Shop at the Jungle Jim's in Fairfield and she may be moving to the Eastgate store to train.

I always get lost in there too ... thank goodness for the maps! :scared:

Wonder how many other Cincinnati DISers are out there?

According to them, even they don't know when they are going to open yet!

I work 5 minutes from here. Love the Jungle! They have the BEST cheese balls!!! The kids always enjoy family outings here. Unfortunately it is like Home Depot, stop in for one thing, leave with $100 in other stuff you didn't need but looked cool! Someday we too will have our own monorail...Por favor mantengase...

I have actually seen the monorail move before! It was VERY slowly, but I think they sometimes use it for events at the Oscar Event Center.

Oh, I miss it! I used to live a couple of miles from the Jungle, and now live in South Carolina. I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried actual tears over this store when we left.

We LOVE Jungle Jims...I want to go back and get the PEZ set of Snow White and all 7 Dwarves for my kids. We are about 20 minutes from there in Liberty Township.

I remember going there 20 or so years ago when we moved to the area. Now we only go every couple of months when we are looking for something specific.

Whenever we visited his family in Cincinnati, my (now ex) DBF always wanted to go here...his sister always talked about how great it was. I didn't know they had one in Eastgate. I guess every time we went there I was too mesmerized by the fact that there were about 50 different fast food restaurants congested into a couple of plazas...I almost had a heart attack just driving by!

I love going there for their great tea selection ... and the CHEESE! :scared1: I've never seen so much cheese of varying variety (and cost) in my entire life.

I was on a scone kick there for a while and found that they sold Devon cream and clotted cream by the jar - who knew? :confused3

I went to Australia in the summer of 2005 and Jungle Jims had a lot of the little treats that were special to Australia. I went there to get some every time I needed an Australia reminder. Also their sushi is great!

Oh, and the WINE and the OLIVE BAR and the fresh FISH and the PRODUCE section the size of a football field, and CAKES from the Bonbonerie, and ELVIS singing.....

Stop me, I'm getting weepy!!!!
