The only way this movie could work and keep the spirit of the ride would be for it to keep that sense of humor, almost Jay Ward style humor.

The movie would have to feature all sorts of Adventurer's Club-esque characters. The big buffoonish muscle, the stuffy, wacky professor, perhaps "swashbuckler" and a stuck up type girl who have a Han Solo and Leia relationship.

I think you are absolutly right. It would be great if they used the AC characters for the movie, it think they would fit in perfectly.

Jungle Cruise the movie... I'm imagining "Captain Ron in the Amazon" haha...

I think they could do it - it wouldn't have to be like the ride, same as POTC wasn't like the ride.

Probably a cross between "Captain Ron" and "Sahara" set in the Amazon, etc. Throw in some bad puns (bad as in good... I enjoy bad puns ) to give it a JC flavor, maybe throw in some other JC homages... but for the most part I can see an adventure comedy in that setting being at least entertaining - worth a matinee ticket or DVD rental...
