Jungle cruise cafe

If they put the cafe in the area just to the right of Adventureland entrance, it's not really near the attraction. Could they not build it closer to the ride?

I don't believe I said in my post that boys or girls cannot be whatever they want to be. My family likes pirates. I didn't mean to offend anyone because my family likes pirates, sorry if that offended anyone, but my boys don't like to go to princess meals and that is ok too. To each his and/or her own. Pirates out.
Your points were completly valid. You shouldn't have pulled your post.

It's theoretically possible that they could've cleared the space, but I think practicality won the day. Also the move should bring life to that area of the entrance.

It's not like it's that far from the attraction anyways. There is sort of a bottleneck in all of this area tho.

Id love a pirate themed restaurant.

That's something we'd really enjoy as well. I'm super-excited about the new Jungle Cruise restaurant. If they go all-out on the theme, they could have another hit on their hands.

My family (boys and girls) are really going to miss PotC this year. It's such a huge part of Adventureland. Jungle Cruise will have to do double-duty. It's really nice to see this part of the park get some attention because the appeal is so broad.

My kids, now in their 20's still love the jungle cruise. We are also very sad that POTC will not be open for our trip in September :worried:; and if your boys want to be princesses just steer them to be a prince. Girls are princesses and boys are Princes, we don't need to start blurring the lines there.

Good gracious. Just had a flashback to the abysmal "Jungle Jim's" restaraunt. My girls made us go every single year, for God-knows-what reason. I think they liked the little glass figurines that came on the straw....

Is it true that will replace the ride with a restaurant? Shouldn't they have more rides and less restaurants? I miss the old ride where the captain of the vessel would shot the hippos despite it not being green? Still hippos wriggling their ears was realistic on how they do attack people? Why would they have close it because it was not political correct? Aladdin is political correct?

Magic kingdom of all places could benefit from more dining venues. imho.

Going to be called skippers cantina I believe. I read its going to be quick service for lunch and table service at night

Like many I'm a big fan of the Jungle Cruise ride and looking forward to the new related themed restaurant.

Love the idea and the theme. Eating in the MK can be dire at times. We usually go in the morning then leave for lunch, or have dinner then come back in the evening.

The times we mess up don't end well. Once in the evening we tried the Tomorrowland Terrace, which was hard to tell if it was open or not. We asked at the Plaza and the hostess says it only opens when it's busy. I said fine, we'd like to eat here then. She said it would be a one-hour wait. Um, so it is busy?

Another time we went into Pinocchio at 7pm. Park closed at 9 and it said restaurant was open until one-hour prior. Lots of people eating but nobody taking orders. Girl yelled at us, and other family, from the back. We couldn't understand. Finally someone came out and said that "it wasn't busy so we couldn't bother to stay open." Wow. What a great slogan!

We did eat at MK in January with BOG ressies. So anything that adds a potential eating spot - especially one that might even bother to stay open - is much welcomed!

I wonder if some Adventurer's Club artifacts will make an appearance...
That was my first though when I hear about this previously. Most of the interactive parts would from there would fit the theme quite well from Jungle Cruise to Tiki Room. Hopefully they'll dust off the Colonel and have him great guests on the way in.

As for the OP...every time, it's like a ridiculous game of telephone...

After reading this thread, I am now wondering if, based off of the success of the BoG restaurant in NFL, that each land will be getting some kind of heavily themed dining experience. That large arcade in TL has been closed (although the space itself is still accessible). It wouldn't surprise me at all if that space was used for something similar to what they are now doing in Adventureland.

In my opinion, the dining in MK has always been lacking considering it is THE park in Orlando.
