Jungle Cruise at night

I've read a few comments about the Jungle Cruise being more enjoyable at night. Just wondering why? Is it just the general idea of floating around in the dark? Can you still see everything that is meant to be seen? Also, where do you get this free Jungle Cruise map that I've read about? Thanks!

I'm not sure if i've ever done JC at night but I've heard that the jokes are a little more edgy in the evening - especially the last ride of the day. I imagine it's also sort of fun taking a boat ride through the jungle when it's dark.

You can get the map by asking a CM when you get off the boat.

We really enjoyed it at night. I can't recall that there was anything that we were unable to see, that we had seen during the day. Maybe it was because it was the end of the day and we were tired, but it felt more relaxed to me at night. I prefer being at DL after dark anyway.

Never asked for a map, but my son wants to ask next time :-)

Just rode it both day & night...for me, it's more about which skip you get than day or night....night definitely has a different feel - but if you get saddled with a lame skip - the time of day won't help...

We've gone at night before and the important areas were lit up so you could see them. At night I think it makes you feel more like you are just there in the jungle alone and not part of the park.

I have been on the JC both day and night and found the night skip a lot funnier. That could just be that CM, but I thought he was great.

Love the JC at night :) colder darker just a different feel. We have done this several times and never noticed a difference in What you see nor the
jokes. But we don't ride the last cruise either. Just fun and so are other rides in the dark :) Matterhorn, Big thunder, even astro orbitors and dumbo :)

I'll only go on the Jungle Cruise at night...not because I don't like it in the day, but because it's just so...realistic (well, as realistic as a jungle with animatronic animals and people can be ) at night. There's no problem with seeing what was meant to be seen, as the vignettes are lighted up at night.

We went last week at night and ended up being the only ones on the boat. No lines and I liked the night cruise better. Everything you need to see is lit up.

I don't think the Jungle Cruise is "better" at night, just different. If you ride it at night, try to ride it during the day as well. It's one of those attractions that is different day and night.

There was one time where I rode JC at night and the skipper was HILARIOUS! He had the whole boat rolling on the floor. I think the ride just has a more eerie feel at night. Plus the lines are pretty much non-existant! :thumbsup2

CM who operates the attraction is the person that makes Jungle Cruise fun to be on no matter the day or night.

We had always ridden Jungle Cruise during the day until a couple years ago when we were fortunate enough to ride a night cruise. It definitely has a different feel, and the atmosphere is better (imo) when riding at night. Like other posters have said, there were no problems as far as lighting goes. I highly recommend going on this attraction at night.

Any ride at Disneyland has a COMPLETELY different feel to it during the day then it does at night. I like the JC at night because it does feel more realistic. You see everything perfectly but you dont see some of the cheesy mechanics of the animals, jumping fish, and the natives. Its like they become more life like. Its pretty cool.

Thanks for the replies everyone. A shorter line at night, more realistic feel, just a bit different in general...all sounds good to me! Adding it to my list of things to do during my next trip...

Both are great especially depending on your skipper, but the night cruise has a more "jungle" mysterious feel to it. LOVE the night ride. But of course I really like the parks at night. All the lights give it a super magical feeling.
