June weather in DLR vs. WDW?

We've been to WDW in June enough times now to know it's HOT. Humid and HOT. Sweat through your clothes HOT. :-)

We've loved our trips to WDW despite the heat, and learned how to dress, how to tour (start early, break in the afternoon, swim at the hotel and then go back at night), how to cool off when needed by finding air conditioned ques and restaurants, etc.

I'm not usually a shorts person, but for WDW in the summer, I make an exception. It's just too darn HOT not to wear shorts!

So this year we're going to DLR from May 30-June 6. We've never been to California before at all. I've looked at typical June weather and it seems to say to expect 70s. However, I've also been reading a lot of DLR trip reports too, and several people still mention it being "hot". I went to Seattle last July (my only time to the west coast ever), and it was hot during the day, but really cool in the evenings. Is this similar to SoCal?

I'm stumped on how to pack. Will I need to suck it up and pack my shorts, or will I be comfortable in capri pants? Do we need sweatshirts at this time of year? This is not something I have EVER packed for a summer WDW trip. :)

What about shoes? We usually wear Crocs, even though they are not my usual fashion shoe of choice, but they work well for Florida in the humidity and pop up rain showers because they allow your feet to dry quickly.

Please help me know how to pack for California! :confused3

#1 rule is weather at DLR is better than WDW.

It will be cool and posssibly gray in the mornings, warm in the afternoon and cool in the evenings. Overall dry and very comfortable temperature wise.

If you are ok walking the long distances in parks at WDW in crocs they will be fine in DLR too. Them and sandals are nice on Splash and Grizzly River Run if and when you get wet. Having long pants may be fine and a sweatshirt for nights may be helpful if it's too cool for you.

Anaheim will typically be hotter than Seattle during the day. But no where near as humid and sticky as FL.

Likely it will be shorts weather with maybe a need for a sweater in the morning.

I can guarantee you that the weather in southern California is nothing like the weather in Seattle. If you were there when it was hot during the day it must have been during their week of summer in late July. My parents live near Seattle, I've never been really hot there. Of course I live in the Sacramento Valley, where 120 is a normal July afternoon.

The weather in Anaheim is beautiful. I went in July 2010 and while it was very warm during the day (75-low 80s) we ended up buying hoodies for the evenings when it got considerably cooler. I would advise that you pack shorts and jeans and a light jacket or sweater, just in case of cool weather.

I've been to both DLR and DW in June. The weather is completely different. Like the others have said, at DLR I used a sweater in the morning at the park opening timeframe, then again in the evening. It was sunny and warm mid-day and in the afternoons, no sweater needed then, but light-weight capris would still be fine.

We were in DW last June and went knowing it would be very hot and humid and it was. We brought along fans, misters, chilly wraps -- the whole nine yards to try and keep cool.

Most of the time at Disneyland in the summer it is fairly mild and dry during the day and because of the lack of humidity, mornings and evenings can be crisp. Sometimes you get a bit of cloud cover off the ocean. But it's usually nothing major. Rain is not unheard of in June, but it isn't likely. There are usually about two weeks or so in the summer that end up unbearably hot at Disneyland. Unfortunately, it isn't always the same two weeks every year. Note, however, if you decide to venture inland, it can be mild in Anaheim and mega hot inland.

We visited DL for the first time after over 25 visits to WDW last June. The weather was GREAT-- No humidity or rain. Shorts and T shirts plus a light jacket in the am. At 11, shed the jacket then at 7 put the jacket back on. DL is our new favorite Disney park.

I second that Tspad!
