I've just had to change our reservations from the end of April to June 9th - 16th, I know that the weather has more rain in June, but should I expect quick showers or all day rain? And what about the crowds, we like it the end of April, how crowded will it be then?

Hi,

It will be MUCH more crowded in mid-June than it is at the end of April. You won't get all day rain in June, just afternoon thunderstorms from time to time.

We went last June, but a week or so later than the dates that you're planning, and it wasn't that bad. It was hot, and there were afternoon showers at times, but we managed it with the usual techniques: fastpasses, ADR's for restaurants, and late afternoon breaks back at the resort. We also made sure to bring extra t-shirts to change into after our breaks. We had a great time, and I know you will too! :goodvibes

We were there in June this year, about the same time you are planning on going. We went June 9th-15th this past summer, and it was HOT!!! We had never been that time of year before, and probably would not do it again. The first few days were not that crowded, but I would assume all kids were out of school by the 12th or so and it was PACKED!!! We used lots of Fastpasses, and never did get on Soarin' which we really wanted to do. We had Tropical Storm Alberto move through when were were there, so it rained hard for a couple of days. The good part about this time of year is the parks are open very late, so we took advantage of EMH in the morning and evenings. Because of the long hours at the parks, be sure to take a mid-afternoon break. We used Disney transportation and it was never a problem to go back to ASMo for a couple of hours then go back to a park. Have fun! We are going to try October next year to see how that goes!!!

We generally end up going in June and there have been downpours but they pass - we've never had to leave a park due to rain, although we did have to stay under cover at Typhoon Lagoon for quite awhile. Some rides - like Test Track - close if there is lightning.

You'll want to be on top of your dining reservation dates for June - especially for things like the Fantasmic Dinner pkgs.

Have a good touring plan and use "best days" itinerary planning - it makes a big difference. I've used the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, www.tourguidemike.com, and www.buildabettermousetrip.com. Birnbaum is just too general as the season starts getting busier.

We have been 3 times in June around the third week(after school ends and before the 4th july). The crowds have been manageable and because the parks stays open late, we headed to resort for pool time and A/C in the afternoon and returned in early evening. There is usually a 3pm thunder boomer and rain then its over and hot and humid again(not as bad humidity as July /August in my opinion). We really like that time of year, but realize it is hot and you cannot commando tour.....drink alot of water..wear a hat...take a/c breaks and swim in the afternnon..these are our survival tips. I am a college professor and we have 16 son in hight school so we usually go in december and or June. My breaks don't coincide with his, but really enjoy it and both times. We are headed there for xmas, but will probably opt for HHI for summer as we are DVC members. You can definitley survive and thrive at WDW in june.

We always tend to go in June and will be there again this year. (June 9-19) Yes June is very hot and humid. Usually there is one nice downfall in the middle of the day but if you don't mind getting wet or have a poncho you can usually get on rides faster since most people will hide when it rains. :) It's kind of fun to watch. Don't let the heat bother you. Just drink plenty of fluids and take breaks when needed.
