June vs Oct: codes, crowds, weather

Last trip was Oct 01...had a great time and were planning again for Oct 07. However, kids are now 13 & 16 and even though they have a fall break & would only miss 3 days of school, thinking now maybe we should go mid-June. How are the crowds & heat that time of year? Last time I booked everything separately & got a code for our room. Are there traditionally any codes or package specials for June. Would love to stay at WL this time but without a code, probably would opt for a mod again. Stayed at POR last time. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Two completely different times of year. October the crowds are manageable and the weather is generally great (if no hurricanes). As for June, full blown summer heat, very hot and very crowded. Lots of folks try to beat the July rush, which in turn has created the June rush. Obviously June and July are so busy in WDW now that Disney had to create an entire different season for rates for the value and moderate resorts--called summer rates. That should be your clue there. Good luck in what ever time you go. My favorite times of year to go are late October and early May, we usually go for 2 weeks each of these times of year, plus a few other times too, but always Oct and May.
