June vs July

We're going to WDW for this first time in summer 2014 (still pretty far, but less than two years!!!) for my high school graduation present. We will also be visiting Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal

So, the first step is to set a date. We will still probably wait till late spring/early summer to make a definite decision, but I am curious as to what month we should look at. I think August would have the best prices, but I won't know what college I'm going to until late into my senior year, so I won't know when it starts. That leaves June and July. Usually our school gets out in the second or third week of June. Which is a better time to go, middle/end of June or anytime during July?

I've posted this in a few other areas of the DIS, but as this is the Budget board, I'd like to hear your opinions on the cost of a June trip vs a July trip. And also your personal preference

Both June and July are peak season, so the cost should be the same. Both are also VERY crowded. I would wait and see when your college starts, late August would be better.

so what if it is crowded, you are going to have a great time. I would think July 4 week would be crazy and try to avoid it, but other than that, I would think June might be a little bit less crazy.

WWof HP is a mad house. It was like Walmart on black Friday trying to get in there. If you can stay one night in a Universal hotel so you can get early entrance.

Is it WWof HP really that crazy? I figured it would have gotten less busy now that it has been open for a while.
